It beats this time last year all we had to talk about was Paddy McCourt

Also there will always be a section who are never happy whatever happens, if we signed Jo they'd say "Ach he's shite canny get a game for Brazil."

Mc Stay said Mc court was good enough to be in the first team last season only with injuries he couldnt get a chance, shouldnt knock a player untill ye see them play.

Have never seen him bar a 30 second highlights clip on the BBC website. So I'll just need to wait and see.

I think he will be a very good signing in the end. Wasn't too keen on him when we where first linked with him but he has to be better than Samaras and JVoH. Hopefully will take some pressure of wee Skippy and he can finally have a decent big man to play off (lets hope they get on though, *cough*Samaras*cough*).

Nah from what I've seen he's stronger than Miller and will test the keeper more instead of ballooning it off to row Z.

Really hard to call but reading this it really wouldnt give you much optimisim

His goal record seems pathetic, we dont need another miller but Mogga has faith in him and ive faith in Mogga so i'll wait and see

Heskey's goalscoring record is pretty poor too and IMO he's a big fanny, but when he plays with Rooney he turns him into arguably the best striker in the world.

Can't see Fortune getting many goals, but McDonald should benefit IMO.

Aye mate, think McDonald will love having a big man to play of, unlike last season! Hopefully Fortune can bang in a couple as well, I think he could muscle the spl defence with ease tbh. We'll have to wait and see, all I'm saying is it's better than Will fucking Flood!

His goal record isn't impressive and he hasn't really played all that many games either, which is a worry. But, as you say, we need to show a bit of faith in the manager's judgement.

I misread your quote at first... I thought you said Heskey turned into the best striker in the world and then I lol'd...

I think Fortune's main asset will be assiting others. Record dosen't seem great but Mogga and Pointer like him so I trust thier judgement. Hope he dosen't turn into another JVoH...

If he bangs in the goals as much as JVoH did in his frist couple of seasons, I'll be very happy.

I've never seen Fortune play and havent heard much about his style. I take it he's more of a target man?

I would much rather have someone who's more proven and with a better scoring record but Mowbray must see something in him so I'm happy to go along with that and see how he does.
JVoH obviously didnt have the greatest of seasons last year but when he got a decent run playing with Skippy they did well and got alot of goals so hopefully Fortune can strike up the same kind of partnership with Skippy.

Delighted with this signing to be honest, We missed in the last couple of seasons a big target man like hartson, He's not going to score 20+goals but wait to you see how many goals coming from around him. Well done Mogga for using the fans, tradition and culture of the club to lure him away from the greed of england, And welcome Marc with open arms
