I don't want to compare Fortune to previous strikers but it took Hartson 2 months to get his 1st Celtic goals. Of course i don't expect him to be as lethal as BBJ was but if he's a hard worker, is good in the air, sets up goals and gets 15-20 goals, if could maybe be to the current team what Sutton was to the MON team.
I Think You Can Judge Him On Like 5/6 SPL Games Then See How He Gets On. Its Just Because His Games Have Been Champions League Games And You Expect The Best From The Players And All That Pressure And Only Havin 1 SPL Game ?? Might Be Wrong But Thats What I Think
He's no worse than any of the strikers we have at the moment, he's not the type of player to bang in 25 goals a season,
Thought he should of started against Arsenal
Some people will be eating their words after the weekend!
Great to see the big man hit the net, lethal finishing from him which is great to see. Hopefully more to come..
Think he's too similar to Samaras in his play. Think we could have done better for the money but I'm no manager. Only time will tell if he comes god or not.
Still has a fuck load to do yet to justify the £3.8m pricetag.
Bit early to be judging him .Although so far he,s yet to convince me .It would be nice to see him go down to London and fire a few past this mob
Jurys still out, but after his 2 goals at the weekend, hopefully it will spur him on to more goals.
Mind you, if we score 5 every week, I couldn't care less how many are his.
"Celtic is important to me in as much as it's one of the only constants in my life over the years. I have changed and become various things but it is the one constant. Religion, friendships have come and gone, likes and dislikes have come and gone, but Celtic has remained." - Billy Connolly
I don’t think he will ever be a clinical striker, as his career record suggests.
For me, the jury is still out. He scored two taps ins against the team that was just promoted… both goals were put on a plate for him by McGeady and Maloney… I’m not taking away from them, but he really couldn’t have missed.
I would like to see how he contributes against the 6 clubs before I start making any real judgements, it’s still early days.
I’m delighted he has finally scored his first two goals for the club though. It will be a burden off his shoulders and will hopefully alleviate the pressure slightly.
“If he wants to learn about scoring goals, he should nip over to watch us train at Lennoxtown some afternoon and I'll show him a thing or two about finishing”
