Yes
No
Not a bashing thread.
Just a question?
For 3.8 mill are you disapointed such an expensive signing did not start the game last night?
I would have expected a player to be bought to play in exactly the sort of game we played last night. I think in the SPL Fortune will be an asset but for 3.8 mill would have expected an ever present at SPL and CPL level.

Yes. £3.8m is a lot of money for us and it makes him a 'big' signing. You would hope that our 'big' signings play in the big games. I have real doubts about this guy.
I’m not sure if I'm disappointed that he didn’t play last night, as I don’t really rate the guy…
But in principle I hear what you’re saying… 3.8 million for a striker who can only make the bench for our most important game of the season. To me that does seem a little worrying.
From what I have seen from Fortune so far, I have been far from impressed, and I’m not even convinced he will be a hit in the SPL. It’s still quite early to be passing judgements on his ability, but so far, not good.
What worries me most is that Mogga has said, he will be our last bit of business, in terms of strengthening the forward line. But, we clearly need another striker who can score goals!
“If he wants to learn about scoring goals, he should nip over to watch us train at Lennoxtown some afternoon and I'll show him a thing or two about finishing”
Me also Martin, to me he looks to be going through the motions. No real desire to his play.
He has shown some neat flashes especially when turning defenders, but lacks skill, touch, heart and an all important dig.
When the team was read out got to admit was not to disapointed either. Quite telling that our marquee signing was sitting on the bench and many of us felt it was the right decision.
Worrying indeed.
Keep telling myself that TM must know that Fortune is a player. As it is not like he has only known him for 5 minutes, surely half a season at WBA was more than enough to asses his ability.
He must hit it off at SPL level, cant be that bad surely?
Never knew Mogga said he would be the only forward joining, that's disapointing.
I really like Mowbray but I hope I'm proved entirely wrong, I can see Fortune contributing to his downfall.
Cmon Fortune prove us wrong.

Yes, I am. What the fuck was he thinking starting donkey. Every time the ball went up there, he was either looking the other way or out of sight. Fortune would have done a lot better in this role from the start imo.
Yes I am dissapointed and completely perplexed at why he did not start.
He would have been the only choice for me to lead the line. Skippy is too small and Samantha is absolutely shite.
I have seen enough to convince me that he will do well for Celtic. He is strong, holds the ball up well and has all the technique required. I think crucially, he is short on confidence and this is why we have not seen the best of him yet.
Facing teams like Accies and St Johnstone will suit him down to the ground and provide him the opportunity to get his confidence up.
As Green2thecore says, if you're going to have one up front it should have been him. Strong and fast he could have brought McGeady, Maloney and Brown into the game. I don't understand why Samaras was picked, a player who genuinely looks like he'll fall over at any second.
He has only had 3 competitive games but i'm beginning to get concerned. He needs to score soon, if he doesn't in the next couple of games i can see his confidence going and then we are back to having one striker at the club that can score goals.
I wasn't disappointed and I think this is maybe a decision that the manager got correct last night. These two look pretty poor when they came on to replace Samaras who had little to work with being up top himself.
There was one moment where you could criticize Samaras for his movement when Fox delivered a great ball across goal. I'm not sure if McDonald of Fortune would have scored this type of goal either though.
I cannot believe anyone would still defend Samantha.
He is criminal and should never got near the hoops again after last season's shite. I cannot stand him, he is rotten. And as a man, he just seems like a complete tit.
Yes definitely disappointed. If your going one up front it's obvious Fortunes the man to do it considering he's been brought here mainly to hold the ball up and bring other into play, something he could have done last night.
I can't be to harsh on Mowbray though because before the game i obviously thought 'why Samaras?', but at the same time i trust the guy (Mowbray) and was saying he's obviously got something up his sleeve so let's see what happens. To criticize him now would be a bit hypocritical.
'IF YOU GET TIRED, OF JUST HANGIN AROUND
PICK UP A GUITAR, AND SPIN A WEB OF SOUND'
No, the striker who is upfront on his own has to be able to take the one chance or so they might get. He looks scared to shot. Clumbsy. Plays out on the wing. Gets in the way.
It was an impossible task. Playing up front alone against a team who give you zero time on the ball. I've always said that Samaras isn't good enough for the CL but who is to play solo front role? Nobody we have anyway.
We don't even have the players to play behind a lone striker who can spot a quick pass.
Care to back up that statement? He is criminal and should never got near the hoops again after last season's shite. I cannot stand him, he is rotten. And as a man, he just seems like a complete tit.
Oh yes, most definetly.
His comments towards the huns last season, were idiotic. BRAINLESS.
He can be found shirking out of tackles, like I have never witnessed before in any other player. COWARD.
At Hampden last year after the CIS cup victory and after he had came on as a sub and missed several sitters, he paraded around with the cup - saluting the fans as if he was the main man. EGO MANIAC.
He swaggers around with that effeminite hair cut, which must hinder him when heading a football. SHALLOW.
of course... he should have been on the pitch from the start. I expected him and Skippy to play. We were successful when both of them started. Why not continue playing with the formation we had success before?
I can definetly see him getting off the mark on Saturday![]()
I thought he did well against Aberdeen and could prove to be a good asset in the SPL at least.
★
I wasn't bothered that he didn't start. No doubt Mowbray had plans to bring him and Skippy on as the game progressed. So far all 3 have played in every game.
If all I focus on is the pricetag, it is disappointing so far.
I think he does add something to the team and will be quality in SPL at least. But we still need another goal poacher.
