Right so when we signed the guy, everyone was hyping him up and saying that he was great and all that.

He did look the part initially, however since returning from his injury he has certainly not looked the part. He has been very poor since then.

Maybe we were too quick to hype him up ? After all it was Lee fucking Naylor he was replacing so I suppose he looked good because of what we had had to endure in Naylor. I'm not labelling him a dud or anything like that as it's way too early for that, I just think he has been over-rated so far.

So what are everyone's thoughts on him so far ?

He's been solid but not a worldbeater.

He wouldn't stand out for another SPL team and I'm sure a McGeady or Maloney would love to play against him. That says it all about his defending.

He looks more tidy on the ball than Naylor and is more consistant with his crossing. However he is one pace and there are a good few examples in our own shitty league that are better so I'd say he's been a poor signing so far.

I think he played his one and only game for Scotland today.

An improvement from Naylor, hence why everyone loved him.

However I am an improvement from Naylor.

    Been a good signing.

Hate how reliant he is on his left foot though, there's times where he's under pressure and can clear it with his right, but he'll insist on trying to get it onto his left and fuck it up somehow.

I like him playing in a piss poor defence though, his defense ain't the best but naylors was shocking, attacking wise i feel he helps mcgeady, giving a chance I think he will only get better.

If he can bang one or two of those free kicks in the pokey it will help his confidence, but I don't think confidence is very high in general around the place.

I agree in general he's a vast improvement on Naylor. And tbh he looks a decent answer to our troubled LB slot. His delivery at times is better than McGeady / Maloney and just now anybody is gonna look awkward in defence in that back 4 just now. He's still pretty young as well so maybe due a wee bit of time.

looks alright going forward, but defending seems to be a problem for him.
The whole defence needs sorting out.

    Even Hinkel?

i'd say hinkel has been better at tracking back this season.

Haha yeah but it was a big fault of his last season which he's sorted out.

Basically he's sorted the basics crossing tracking back etc which is what he needed as he's a pretty damn good player.

tbh I am not sold on him...feel he gets caught out too many times out of position...and hes not really set the place on fire with his alleged "cultured" left foot.

Going to go out on a limb and say that I prefer Naylor....just my opinion

Yes he is better than Naylor.

But that doesn’t make him a good player. I think he’s been decent. A steady performer, nothing great.

But then again, what should we expect when we are resigned to mediocre Championship players.

That's a good description of Fox.
