Why have Celtic stopped playing songs like "Fields of Athenry" and replaced it with shitey songs like "we love you Celtic we do" etc... ??
Has been pissing me off for quite a while now !

The songs they play are an absolute joke really, they're pish.

They can get that shit version of LTPS to fuck as well !

Have they actually stopped playing the Fields!?

I think so , i can't recall hearing it for a quite a while now. I remember a couple of years ago , huns were trying to get rid of fields after the billy boys was banned.
If that has anything to do with it then its a disgrace.

They cannot ban the Fields.

The Billy Boys is song of sectarian hate. It’s something you would expect to be sung at some sort of 1960's Klan meeting.

The Fields is sung not just by Celtic fans, but many fans the world over. There is nothing offensive in it, so cannot be banned.

Yeah true but that's the only explanation i can think of. Very strange that they have stopped playing it all over a sudden.

It wouldn't surprise me as they changed the words to Let the people sing, which totally contradicts the meaning of the song.

I recall it being played a few weeks ago against kilmarnock i think :confused:

They play it ages before kick-off when no cunts in the stadium .

I cringe whenever I hear the fans singing "we love you Celtic, we do". It's your typical generic English club song and it just makes me think of loudmouthed Chelsea or Arsenal fans.

Have you heard the 'song' mate? It's awful. And it's not even a Celtic song it's just a generic football one. One of the best things about Celtic is that we have a wonderful cultural history with loads of actual full length songs - unlike most English teams who just share the same boring chants and just swap the player/team names around.

I havent heard it for ages either at a match but I think they probably play them all before I get in, I only get in usuallly about a couple of minutes before the kick off, if your there about half an hour before it's probably on then. Last time I think I heard it was before one of the games against R*ngers the two home games at the end of the season a couple of seasons ago.

We should sing YNWA before all our games aswell, home or away.

Agreed.

It came on the other week at the start of the second half (cannae remember who we were playing, may have been Killie) and basically no one sang it. It stopped after the first couple of lines.

I’m not into all this blind faith, but I do like the song. It embodies what being a Celtic fan is all about.

Over and over was played after the last game of the season after we collapsed and surrendered the league.

They really had a cheek playing it then tbh.
