I guess a move to one of the biggest clubs he has ever played against would have been a dream move, I remember him smiling with Butcher. He had just earned his ticket out of 'Well and wasn't tied down to us so why wouldn't he celebrate. I don' t think he was a fan before he came here, he is now.
He was a Celtic fan, I remember the photos of him at Celtic park with the hoops on, hat, scarf and pictures with Cadete and Di Canio![]()
"What these players have to realise, is that when you put on the Celtic jersey you're not playing for a football team, you're playing for a community and a cause"
Didn't know he was a Celtic fan before hand. Interesting. Its still a dream move. Not for the likes of me and you, but for him it must have been. Like Carragher playing for Liverpool and now detests Everton, though he was a Toffees fan all his life. I think its a lot different if your playing for your career we are sitting here hating the Huns and everything about them. None of us play the game at such and level were a couple of goals can get you into the big time.
No I was looking on google for them but nothing there  might have been in the Celtic View about 2 year ago but im sure it was in the papers?

McDonald claims to have been a Celtic fan since a Bhoy and has stated he used to get up in the early hours to watch Celtic games on the TV whislt he was living in Australia.
I think his behaviour on Black Sunday was appalling… grinning beside that Hun Butcher and widely over celebrating his goals was sickening.
His tantrum when he was rejected a move to der Hun is also questionable… for a supposed Celtic fan.
“If he wants to learn about scoring goals, he should nip over to watch us train at Lennoxtown some afternoon and I'll show him a thing or two about finishing”
Rejected a move from Motherwell to the Huns. No for anyone bar us that is a fucking monumental move, clearly he would be fucked off. It says he is a Celtic fan though I doubt he was a hardocre Celtic fan. I am not bothered whether he was or wasn't. He is now.
A mate of mine who goes to the games with us, refuses to acknowledge him for the reasons above. I backed him, but I never bought into the shite that he is a Tim. Well not by my definition, a Tim could never have done what he done on Black Sunday and not just the goals, he also cavorted around rubbing our noses in it. I have seen the pictures of him when he was younger but they mean nothing, his Da taken him over to Scotland and they stopped by at a football stadium to have pictures taken, big deal.
I'd sell him, if it meant we could spend all the money we get on a replacement. He is our best goalscorer but is hardly prolific. He could easily be replaced with a better player for £4/5 million.
His attitude stinks and it is unforgivible that he is a media rat.
Aye mate, don't mean to be flippant but:
Henrik Larsson £650,000,
McDonald £750,000.
I'd suggest we could sign Costea or Giroud for under £4 million. Failing that, I don't think Anthony Stokes is too far away from McDonald's pedigree. I know folk here don't like him but I think he has easily as much technique as Skippy.

Henke is, literally, one in a million though. I wouldn't expect us to find as amazing a bargain again in my lifetime. I meant do you have any suggestions of players at the minute who you feel could assuredly get as many goals as McDonald and be available for less than £5m?
I think Giroud sounds promising and hope me land him aswel mate. Come to think of it, Jermaine Beckford is being mooted for around £2/3m which would be a steal imo.
aw camon now, you don't belive this pish for a minute, do ya?
(Wayne Ronney BTW)
I've said this before, there nothing i find more frustrating than watching someone half hearted runing up and down the pitch, McDonald does just that.
Like RK said, I would much rather have Kenny Miller in my team, or even big sammy for that matter, these people might not be the best finisher in the world, might not be the most gifted players, but one thing they will do is run about for 90 minutes and give there all.
Just look at the Scotland team in 07, we beat France home and away, and took Italy right down to the wire, now that team we're an average side, and the french and the Italians where both world cup finalists, both and exceptional players in there squad, now that Scotland team didn't do so well on quality, they done well because they where a squad of graffters and where willing to give there all for the cause, show's ya what you can do when when you give your all and try you hardest. Bar seville, i don't think I've ever felt so proud with sport, I'd much rather have player willing to fight, McDonald, although he is a good finisher, and probably has the ability sadly doesn't work hard enough for me and i'd be happy if he left Celtic.
CE you seam to have a speacil place in yer heart for McDonald, Fair enough
but as other people have said, he's a friend of a journalist, what true tim would do that?
What true time would score against us and run of celebrating like he did?
If he was a true tim like any of us he would be running up and down the feild giving his all, showing us all how much he love's us, kissing the badge isn't enough for me.

All badge kissing and 'Well celebrating aside, i really don't think McDonalds work ethic cannot be questuioned. Fair enough, he should take better care of himself off the field. But for 90 minutes i believe he gives his all, i don't know if i'm the only one who sees this or what but i think he's a grafter aswel as a top finisher.
His previous behaviour on Black Sunday etc is dissapointing as is his relationship with Keith Jackson and apparently being the dressing room rat. But I like the guy and he scores goals (despite his limitations) which we will need in the run in. It would be a massive risk to sell our best goalscorer mid way through the season even if we do replace him as the replacement might not immediately sette.
I say we buy a striker in January as well as keeping Skippy. If the other striker settles and starts banging them in then I don't think you would find too many objections to selling Skippy.
"When you pull on that jersey you're not just playing for a football club, you're playing for a people and a cause"
God Bless Mr Celtic
I like scotty dog as he always seems to be there for some important goals and to be fair the goal against R*ngers was important never mind the defence hazard at the other end. McDonald is a good wee player and to be fair i think getting rid of JVoH was a bad idea those 2 upfront together were scoring goals for fun together.
Another page set up by a group calling themselves the "Killowen Young Republicans" promises to "protect the Republican communities from the PSNI, hoods and most of all loyalists." The group's photo album contains numerous images of youths in balaclavas posing with a range of republican flags as well as a handguns and automatic weapons.
