McCourts game isnt about running at pace though. McGinn and McGeady will be fine at Celtic Park. I would play McCourt in the middle with Crosas, we're at home so the more attacking we are the less we'll need to defend.

I think TM will go with O'Dea and Big Jos at the Center, it would be too much for Josh (2nd start)and a guy playing his first game. Hope he lets Caddis start at LB, the wee guy always does well and adds a bit of pace to the back line.

Midfield he will probally go with Crosas, Zi, McGready and McGinn, although I would start Paddy playing just behind Fortune with Samaras playing wider left.

As has been said a must win, we have the players to beat hibs, but struggle with confidence, an early goal would settle us down nice.

They will attack us, so there will be space for us up front, it depends on how we defend, Zi needs to sit in and help cover the defence. The two full backs need to be instructed to defend first attack when oppertunity is there, but not both at the same time......

Quinny, you say a midfield of..

McGeady Crosas ZZ and McGinn would get destroyed, no ball winner?

But you went for the same except swapping McCourt for McGinn?

McGinn does a bit more tracking back than Paddy, but to say any of the two is a ball winner is wrong imo.

No, I said a midfield of
McGeady Crosas McCourt McGinn would get destroyed. I moved McCourt out to the wing and put ZZ in the middle. McCourt and Crosas imo opinion would be a disaster in central midfield because McCourt doesn't have the stamina to do the defensive work of a central midfielder and Crosas isn't exactly a grinder either.

I don't see why he wouldn't be back then. He'll be alright for the Hamilton game for sure anyway, thankfully.

running at pace? doesnt do us much good when we face 10 men behind the ball defending on the edge of their own box. mc court has a trick up his sleeve that can unlock defences and mc ginn doesnt. he was murder and i cant believe anyone who watched sundays match wants him any where near the team.

    Boruc

    Hinkel Thompson Hooiveld O'Dea

    Caddis Crosas Khi McGeady

    Fortune Rassmusen
    .

I worry about our midfield being too lightweight. Caddis offers more solidity than McGinn and Sunday proved McGinn is not ready for the first team just yet. Once Brown is fit, I'd give him the right midfield slot and push Aiden out left.

As Samaras and Fortune are too similar, I'd bring Rasmussen in straight away. Then if we are struggling, we just need to take a midfielder off for Samaras and we have a potent 3 pronged strike force.

If anything Fortune should be coming off the bench should he not? Samaras has been the better out of the 2 for weeks.

Fortune assists a hell of a lot more than samaras and has better link up play = him with poacher is good.

Notice he made 2 good cutbacks at the weekend if we had a box poacher on the pitch they would have been belted in.

No Fortune has been better than Samaras for about a month. Samaras has been scoring though but Fortunes been playing better than him, Samaras doesnt seem to be able to link up with anyone and just runs about himself

Hoopymo, I think I was correct with what I said. The more attacking we are, especially in the SPL and even more so at home the less the opposition can attack. Ive been saying for a while the reason we struggle is because we're not attacking or defensive as we should be. When we're playing in the SPL against anyone really we should always have 3 people forward at all times even if the opposition have a corner or freekick. Thats how attacking teams play like Arsenal and Barcelona, their defences aren't the best and can make mistakes but they dont get much to do because they leave 3 or more guys forward all the time and whoevers playing them can't leave them 3 on 3 so they always end up with 5 of 6 guys back defending and then they can only attack with 4 or 5 players and barcelona/arsenal can defend with 7 players when they're being attacked.

It's a big mistake we make, when a team get the ball off us near enough the whole team falls back and lets the opposition put as many guys forward as they want. When we get the ball back it takes a while before we can get back up the other end. If we would always leave 3 guys up then the other team would never be able to attack us like they do. Thats the way we should be playing especially when Crosas or Ki are playing, so if we win the ball back and have the 3 guys up the park they can ping balls over the top.

O'Dea is twice the player Thompson is imo. Don't see what he did wrong is the last match for people to exclude him form their team? Also, don't know whether to start McCourt or not as he could be used as an impact player and run riot. McGinn had a shocker the last day but we all have off days and he is usually on the ball.

I disagree simply because most of the SPL is 10 man defence counter attacking tactics, we attack them more then they hit us on the break and we don't exactly have the full backs and ball winning CM's right now to go gun ho forward.

Batch, for all arsenals attacking prowess notice they fuck up the most against teams like stoke etc, more defensive and organised especially when lacking a ball winning CM like we do right now.

The arsenal example is a double edged sword

What's he done that's been better than Thompson though?

Over the past few weeks Thompson has been in better form, and form for me dictates who starts.
