Thats the whole point of leaving 3 players forward. If we've always got atleast 3 players one wide left, one right and one through the middle playing right on the edge of their defence then nobody in the SPL is going to leave them with only 3 or 4 defenders, they are going to leave 4 defenders and 2 maybe 3 midfielder back to keep an eye on them. That means they can only have 3 or 4 players to attack and the rest of our players the other 7 can go back to defend.

It happens all the time when we lose the ball our full team drops back to get it back and thats shite tactics because it lets the other team put as many people forward as they want because we cant go up and attack them because there no-one there when we get the ball back.

Barcelona's defence make mistakes and leave themselves out of position but nobody ever attacks them because Henry, Ibrahimovic and Messi are always up the pitch and teams arent daft enough not to make sure theres 5/6 of their players back to watch them.

We're clearly not Barcelona but we're still probably the best team in our League and the same approach will work.

You said that teams play 10 man defences against us and they do but because the way we play the now everytime they manage to attack us they score quite a lot of the time because the way we let them attack us by dropping everyone back. Not many teams have many chances against us but they always manage to score a high percent of the chances they get.

But, what did O'Dea do wrong in the last few games? I think O'Dea is in better form tbh mate. I think Thompson would struggle against a decent side of players unlike O'Dea who does well under pressure and looks more composed. I think Thompson is to awkward, shit on the ball and bad in the challenge but hopefully he'll improve with age.

It's called a counter attack batch, wait till opponents filing themselves forward then spring on them and score.

It happens all the time when we lose the ball our full team drops back to get it back and thats shite tactics because it lets the other team put as many people forward as they want because we cant go up and attack them because there no-one there when we get the ball back.
Hence why we should build up attacks with possession instead of throwing everything forward at once.

Barcelona's defence make mistakes and leave themselves out of position but nobody ever attacks them because Henry, Ibrahimovic and Messi are always up the pitch and teams arent daft enough not to make sure theres 5/6 of their players back to watch them.
Also the fact that they are BARCELONA might help, the fact they have BALL WINNING CM's might help, the fact they KEEP POSSESSION might help.

We're clearly not Barcelona but we're still probably the best team in our League and the same approach will work.
Erm no it won't, the spanish league isn't nearly as defensive as ours and the styles are completely different.
Not many teams have many chances against us but they always manage to score a high percent of the chances they get.
Hence why you cut down their chances by not throwing everyone forward at once so when they counter we have men back to deal with it.

Do you really think it's wise to go gun ho at a point where we don't have a ball winning CM and a shakey as fuck defence batch?

He got fucked in the ass for falkirks goal 2 weeks ago.

He's too one footed for my liking at this point in time.

Im not talking about going gung ho, im just saying we should leave 3 men forward all the time so that when we lose the ball the other team cant attack us like they do now.

I’m not really a fan of O’Dea either.

I don’t think any of our CB’s are all that competent but I’d be happy to try out the lad Thompson, I didn’t think he did too badly against St Johnstone. Not great, but not shite.

Considering 2 of those strikers will probably be nowhere near the box that'll do jack shit to helping us especially in a league where they pack the midfield.

Like I said, it's the worst possible time to try this as we're missing N'guemo and our defence is nowhere near stable yet.

Do ya have a video of the goal mate can't remember who was at fault.

Along with alot of our defence which is shocking for professional footballers didn't really think O'Dea was to one footed but il take your word for it ya wanker He is still young too lad he can improve

I think he is our best centre half tbh

Paddy does not offer us the same threat when he starts mate. He is best suited to coming on after an hour when the opposition are jaded.

    @ Mo and Batch.

I think Samaras does a slightly lesser job at linking up with others, but makes up for it as he is more of a goal threat. If anything Samaras is too greedy where as Fortune ponders whether to shoot or not for a few minutes.

We won't need samaras to be a goal threat if this new lad is a good poacher then, just fortune to help create the chances.

Why not have a slightly lesser support in Samaras and another goal threat?

Because of how inconsistent samaras is as a goal threat compared to fortune consistently making chances.

2-0! mon eh hoops, Fortune and Rasmussen to score
Swap McGeady and McCourt and try Rasmussen off the bench for Sammy, if things aren't working. O'Dea possibly in for Hooiveld, if he's struggling to get up to pace.

I worry that unless one of the CBs gives Stokes and Riordan a clatter, they'll be at us from the off. Both very talented and Hughes knows how shaky we are at the back. Hopefully one of the boys in the middle puts the boot through Miller; just to remind him what a wee prick he is.

But we don't know how much of a consistent goal scorer Rasmussen will be, so therefore for now we are better to have the player who is more likely to score on.
