I think he's been solid these last two games, more than what I expect from a player after months out.

He was fucking awful at the beginning of the season. His performance in the home game v Hamburg was embarrassing to watch. He'd go on a run and the ball would end up out or at the feet of another player. However, he was apparently playing with an ankle injury which does affect your game a lot so that's a mistake from him/Mowbray for continuing playing him. In my opinion, Brown was bought to be a box to box midfielder for us and I don't think he makes enough driving runs through the middle like Petrov used to. The thing I'd like to see most from Brown is a few goals.
Don't really rate him. He's got plenty of energy and he likes to rile opponents but his passing is poor, his touch is poor and he doesn't really have much intelligence to his game.
He has been through a hard time though with his sister dying and playing with injuries so maybe we'll start to see the player he can be. I doubt it though.
more chance of getting BJ off the pope minty. his finishing is woeful. i think brown needs to find his level, dont try and be mc stay or petrov, i honestly see him as a peter grant type player. full of energy so he should get about the opposition and theres enough of a goal threat from others to compensate for his brattbakk-esque finishing
We've spent about 8m on brown between fee and wages, he's been a total waste of money, he'll never be a match winner for us, he can be decent but thats about it
With all honesty I think Brown has been no better than average in the last two games. He is just back from injury however so I will show some leniency until he is totally match fit.
The game against the huns is a massive game for all our players but none more than Broony. It will his first derby as captain and it will give him the chance to finally make his mark for us. This game could really be the making of him and he is a player for games like this but he has never really bossed the midfield against them like we know he can apart from a few games. It's your time to shine Broony!

The role Brown is now playing can go unnoticed unless you diligently watch him. His presence is vital.
He breaks up play, covers an unbelievable amount of ground and is always open for a pass. Closing teams down when they have possession is vital and Brown does it to perfection. All this whilst he constantly talks the referee through the game, I love seeing this, it is a hallmark of all great sides. He has given the team something it has sorely missed and this could be crucial come May.
Did not really see much of Brown breaking up the play against Hearts tbh, I thought he was anonymous for most of the game. Aye he has the energy to cover an unbelievable amount of grand but he does not have the intelligience to use this properly as he ends up chasing shadows. It is all fine and well being open for a pass but his passing is poor and extremely limited. His physical presence has been missed though I agree and I hope he goes on to make his mark for the rest of the season.

Och well, we just have to agree to disagree.
I thought he was excellent. His presence ruffled the Hearts midfield and I thought his passing is improving. He doesn't seem to be trying to play Hollywood passes anymore and is keeping it simple but effective. In fact I hardly noticed any of his passes going astray at all last night.
Scott Brown is good enough to help Celtic mount serious SPL title challenge next year, says Paul McStay
May 20 2010
CELTIC legend Paul McStay has urged Scott Brown critics to give him time to show what he can do at Parkhead after a fruitless SPL campaign. McStay has been dismayed at the flak aimed at 24-year-old Brown from some of the Hoops fans since he joined from Hibs.
Last season an ankle injury kept the Scotland midfielder out for three months but he managed to hit a decent run of form as the campaign came to a close - despite Celtic not winning anything.
But McStay, who insists Brown can inspire Celtic to league success next year, said: "For a player like Scott, every year is a big year.
"He has to keep improving and I'm sure he'll thrive on that. He has energy, gets himself about the pitch and can be inspirational.
"He has what it takes to be captain. He can lead and get players going on the park by shouting or by his performance.
"He has a hunger, and that definitely helps.
"With Scott Brown as captain I would expect them to challenge strongly in the league."
I'll take what Maestro's smoking.
Look the guy went through a really bad patch for the best part of a year, but the last month or two has seen a vast improvement in his form and his hunger. I really don't know how anyone can say he's a poor tackler, am baffled by that. His passing aint the best granted but that can improve (touch wood), and his support play has been far better than it was.
I'm goanny make a prediction and say he'll win back player of the year next season, and contribute goals in double figures. And i'll be like that 'in yo faces'![]()
