SCOTT BROWN insists that Celtic will need to display all their battling qualities if they want to take three points off R*ngers tonight (Tuesday).
The Hoops skipper has been an impressive performer in recent weeks as Neil Lennon’s side have racked up six SPL wins on the spin.
And he is adamant that every player will be firmly focused on extending that run when Walter Smith’s side visit Celtic Park tonight.
“I think there is always a point to prove especially when they have won the league and we have only got two games of the season to go. We are on a good run and want to continue it", he said.
“I think we are playing for the jersey, becoming a harder team to beat and have a bigger physical presence as well and I think that’s something Lenny has brought in along with the fight and hunger to win matches. So we are going to have to battle, win our 50/50s and also play good football.”
He added: “It’s a Glasgow derby, you always look forward to them and you just have to go out there and see what happens on the day and hopefully we come away with the three points.”

i prefer it when players fuck up and do their talking on the pitch.
If this cunt could play as well as he mouthes off then we’d have a super player on our hands.
I’m not expecting too much from him, he doesn’t really show up in these games. If he does what he does best, which is kicking anything that moves, then I hope he injures some of their players.
“If he wants to learn about scoring goals, he should nip over to watch us train at Lennoxtown some afternoon and I'll show him a thing or two about finishing”
Hooray yet another one of our players does Walter Smith's team talk for him! Not as if this backfired last season at all.
Brown is the last player who should be saying anything. He maybe needs to show some ability more than running and booting the ball away rather than hunger.
How has he gave Smith's team talk for him ? It's not as if he's said 'We're the much better team' or anything like that...like Hinkel did and Samaras before him.
He has just said what I would expect him to say, that we have to try and extend the winning run. I would rather he said nothing but he's not said anything disrespectful about the huns.
Brown is the one who needs to deliver most tonight though. I expect a massive performance from him but we will more than likely not get it.

It might be the truth he's speaking but it's the kinda shite you don't spout to the press before and Old F**m game because now Smith doesn't even need to tell the players anything about us, Brown's just helped Smith's gameplan.“I think we are playing for the jersey, becoming a harder team to beat and have a bigger physical presence as well and I think that’s something Lenny has brought in along with the fight and hunger to win matches. So we are going to have to battle, win our 50/50s and also play good football.”
Fight and hunger was always gonna be a given under Lenny. Lennon said in his initial press conference that he was gonna try and make us harder to beat as well as focusing more on the physical aspect of our game. Trying to battle and win your 50/50's in a derby game is also a given. Brown has said nothing that Wattie won't already know.
Hinkels comments on the other hand will probably be pinned up on their dressing room wall. Such an idiot for making those comments, I just hope he has the performance to match them.

I heard about hinkel saying something, but I never read it. Got a link handy?
Also why the fuck have the club not learned and given our players a blanket media ban before OF games ffs. Even worse is it's not as if hinkel is a new player to this team. He saw how it fucked up in Samaras face last season yet he still mouths off.
Hinkel got kind of a raw deal. In most other languages the subjunctive tense is used a lot more and has more of an "if this, then that" context. So when he says "we can show everybody we are better", he means that if we win (an uncertainty) it will mean we are better, not that we are better (a fact) and we will try to prove it. He should still know better but I think what he was trying to say was lost in his brain in translation.

Spot on about the media ban idea, it seems as we have not learned our lesson.

To be fair, I’m hoping the comments spice things up a bit.
Novo has enraged some of our players with his recent remarks and Hinkel has probably done the same with them.

I hope Novo plays!
He’s a bit shite so Smith seems reluctant. If Novo plays I fancy him to get done in the first few minutes.
My money’s on McGeady or Brown.

as much as i'd love to see novo emptied, i'd also like to win so any assault should come in injury time.
Didn't look like this backfired on Broony yesterday, imo he looked fired up from the start and although last night he wasn't a patch on the superstar we saw play for Hibs he put in a good few solid tackles and passes.
How did he manage to miss that header?
