Craig Brown has revealed agents have approached him offering to attempt to negotiate a move to Celtic.

But the Motherwell manager has dismissed suggestions he could act as a mentor for Neil Lennon at Parkhead.

The 69-year-old has moved to deny speculation he could be recruited as an experienced figure to work alongside Lennon, who was installed as interim boss following the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Brown - who enjoyed a successful campaign at Fir Park and led Motherwell to a Europa League spot - has had no talks with the Celtic hierarchy.

He told the Evening Times: "I've had no contact whatsoever with Celtic, although I've had a couple of agents phoning to ask if they would like to represent me and put my case to the club. I said no to them."

Republic of Ireland national team boss Giovanni Trapattoni has also been linked with a move to the Celtic management team to work with Lennon.
That would be a dream come true imo!

One of my favourite managers of all time. Few of my favourite's are Italian such as Trapa, Lippi and Capello (pre-England). My current favourite in the world is Spanish though... Pep, what a guy!

Your spot on there with that list mate. I think the same but ive saw how ireland changed radically at first hand and this is incredible really. Trap does it his way - he look at the resources and limitations , then plays to the teams strengths while tightening the weaknesses...basically very hard to play against...and rarely loses...wins generally by the odd goal. stereotypical italian tactics in the pure form.

Aye and look who's doing it now and getting all the praise... Jose Mourinho! I reckon Trapa would win us the Europa League, considering he's done it three times in the past wi Juve twice and Inter once. Ireland won a watch when he got the manager's job!

haha,...aye...and its dissapointing on a number of differnet levels that those french cunts cheated in the playoff...because despite the obvious and main dissapointments and issues it caused...trap did a fucking unbelievable job and deserved to get his team to south africa. he masterminded it with genius calls and was denied only by something beyond his control

are yous serious about trap? trap suits the ROI due to limits in his players and il be the first to say hes done a great job with ROI and i hope he remains in the job. Trap would be a nightmare at celtic for the simple reason he plays defensive football, he gets a goal and then puts 9/10 behind the ball the rest of the game (irelands downfall in not winning more games in the qualifers) with the way our defence is that would be a recipe for disaster! its not the celtic way to play also trap holds grudges (andy reid saga) and for a club manager that could spell alot of trouble behind the scenes!

I wouldn't like to see Trap here.

Half because he's doing great with Ireland and half because we should be looking to dominate teams as opposed to Gio's style of pinching a goal and then setting up shop (which suits the Irish NT).

Besides, i think he's done with club football, the guys in his 70s, i think once he's done what he feels he can with Ireland he will call it a day or maybe take up some post in Italian football.

Craig Brown certainly wouldn't suit the Celtic support. I'd rather him than Lennon or both might work depending how they get along.
