Agreed. We may have missed the chance to get Ledley (will hope and pray for him though) but a RW & LW with cash to spare from the sale of McGeady is good for the team, fans and the board.

Not good business sense when you think of it (8m) Aiden has his price but 8 million isn't it.

We're not a selling club (so we hear) so we shouldn't be selling our biggest asset at the first sign of someone wanting to pay us more that 3 million for a player.

Ye never know though, if this is an official offer from Spartak then it could start a bidding war between them and a couple of English teams?

That's debatable. Personally I'd love to see them both in the same midfield. And I'd hate it if we had to sell any of the top players like Aiden, Boruc or Hinkel to buy in the 1.5-2m replacement, that player should be brought in to strengthen the squad not replace.

How people expect us to move on as a club by selling players for a lot of money and buying players for small amounts is beyond me.

These are the same people who then decide to start slating the board as penny pinchers when it dosen't work out.

If that happens then great.

As I said every player in the world has his price and if some numb nut english team want to pay us 12mill then great. if they don't? then there is no harm in us keeping him because we don't need the money.

8 Mil for a lad that's never filled his potential is a great coup for Celtic, also I believe he's a disruptive influence in the changing room. Don't think he'll go to Moscow but I an see Birmingham coming in with a cheeky raise and take him down there.

Well celtic have told them to shove it according to STV, Personally I think it's great we are showing we're no pushovers in the transfer market.

In 07-08 McGeady played 36 matches, scored 7 goals, and assisted on 16. He won the SPFA Player of the year and Young Player of the Year.

In 09-10 McGeady played 35 matches, scored 7 goals, and assisted on 14. He was routinely lambasted. If he can provide that much production despite playing with a shitty support cast maybe it's worth giving him one more go under Lennon to see what he can do.

We'll get at least £10mil for the lad, no problem. No chance he'll be going to Russia tho, i can't see him being fucked learning a new language tbh. But i can see someone else rather than Birmingham coming in for him, i would put my money on Spurs signing him for £10mil minimum.

As much as the stats are similiar, I think the general make of a player is how he actually GETS those stats. I don't remember every McGeady goal but in terms of performance it hasn't been the same.

Someone could score 20 goals a season by brilliant play, then the following season score 20 lucky goals without any performance.

Imo he just isn't as good as he was in 07-08.
