Yes. But if Martin hadn't answered the question as positive wouldn't the press has backed it as not supporting lennon then we'd be saying 'you can't take press release like that as true opinion."
If he'd seemed a bit reluctant it could be said the press would jump on that too.
"Celtic is important to me in as much as it's one of the only constants in my life over the years. I have changed and become various things but it is the one constant. Religion, friendships have come and gone, likes and dislikes have come and gone, but Celtic has remained." - Billy Connolly
I think I actually just said that. Martin was a master at the flannel, seasoned bawbag journos like chick hun were scunnered by him, they couldnt get the answer out of him but he never said 'no comment'.
However, when he had something to say, he said it, quotes and all, and that's whats happened here.
The more I think about this the more excited I get. Lenny has learned from the master for the last 20 years or so, I remember a wee specky guy who dipped his toe into management after learning from Clough, and he done no bad.

I'm pretty happy with Lennon as our manager, its had a couple of days to sink in. Who knows what he can achieve, we have two possibilities; a failure, or a legend. Ofcourse, we'd all take saint martin back in a heart beat, but for now Lennon will do until that day comes again.
I'm on the same boat as O'Neill, I think Lennon's gonna do the business for us this season, and even if he doesn't one thing is for sure, We'll go down fighting.
I dont think lenny is good enough for the job but as a supporter of celtic fc i will support lenny and the decisions he makes, he the manager of the club and with that i will have faith in him BUT i stand by what i said at the start i think this season is a very important one with many tasks ahead main ones being getting the title back, restoring some pride, beating the huns , europe etc i think for lenny this is asking too much from such an inexperienced manager i would loved to have got someone with more experience and lenny to be 2nd in command! I hate the fact that i have this opinion im labelled by the lenny bridgade as a non supporter or less of a supporter of the club! I have my opinion and i wont change that for no one the only one who will change it is lenny himself! at the end of the season if he has done the above tasks i will be the first to say i was wrong and id have no problem with that
bring on this season faithful through and through

why dont you think lenny is good enough?
It's not the creed or nationality that counts, it's the man himself
Celtic - more than just a club

He's not good enough YET, I really do believe lenny should have took a Paul lambert approach and headed down south to gain experience in the managers game, ok lower league is far from glamourous but it does give vital experience, I believe this season is one of the most important seasons in recent years for the simple reason that last season was beyond words , it's a mammoth task to take on even forban experienced manager never mind a rookie! Yea lenny can try and restore some passion in the team and get the fans back in there seats but there's so much more to this season than just that and as I said before I think an experienced manager with lenny second in command would have been better! I'm still bitter about the Ross county game aswel, the one game lenny HAD to win and well we were made to look like utter fools in that match
as said before the above is just my opinion and that although I feel the wrong apointment was made lenny gets my suport and backing, I trust lenny has the clubs best intentions at heart and like us he lives and breathes this club which is a great thing and if at the end of the season the title is back with us and wev restorted order at celtic park then I will be the first to say I was wrong
