Mainly that it is far superior to any other thing you can do with your time.
My cousin was over for the week so I had to do a load of tourist shite. Wasn't a happy camper having to wake up at 9am every day to go to places like Thorpe Park, Madame Tussauds, London Zoo etc and all of these places were utter shite and required you to spend most of the day queuing.
Thorpe Park was the usual chav fest, and you have to queue up for hours with these scumbag kids. We went on 2 rides and spent the rest of the time at the bar.
Madame Tussauds queue was insane so we just said fuck it and went to the pub. I've been before and it's crap anyway - yes the waxworks are realistic but once you see one and appreciate what the creators can do, you've seen them all. Who the fuck wants to post next to a fake celebrity for a photo?
London Zoo was atrocious. £17 in ffs and most of the animals were doing fuck all, just sleeping. In fairness that's exactly what I'd have been at if I hadn't had to get up at 9 to fucking go there. Fish are absolute minus-craic too. There were no sharks or jellyfish any cool shit like that, just crappy slippery yokes that would look better fried in batter. Monkeys are pretty good craic though, especially spider monkeys. But yeah, £17 to see some boring animals - you may as well watch a wild-life documentary at least they usually film them doing stuff.
Then there was the usual sight-seeing in central London and a bit of shopping on Oxford St. Pure shite. The best times were going out at night on the beer.
