The Football manager 09 thread.

Basically a thread about tactics , formations , players , teams etc. So how are your teams doing?

AFC Wimbledon. Start off in Blue Square South (lowest league), first season I won the playoffs and got promoted to Blue Square Premiership.

Second season I, again, won the playoffs and got promoted to League 2.

Third season, same old story, won the playoffs and got promoted to League 1.

I *think* I won the Johnston Paint Trophy once, not sure, but other than that I haven't won a competition yet lol. I get really unlucky draws in the Cups every year. I'm yet to get a team from a lower division, and as soon as the big Premiership teams enter the FA Cup I get one of them in the draw!

Anyway, I've been languishing in League 1 for a few seasons now. First year up I avoided relegation on the last day by a point. For the two years after that I finished high up, last season was a pretty good mid table spot.

This year I'm in the playoff zone around New Years so fingers crossed.

I take it you've tried to invest in youth as well?


Also i thought the vauxhall conference was the lowest league you could get as well, or was that renamed to blue square premier?



Well I started a new game last night as Ipswich,who get a surprising amount of cash £6.25 for a title challenge to be exact.

I Bought Rat,Seleznyov bobo balde Diego tristan (big mistake) and sanchez that mexican keeper.

Just about to start 2016/17 season with celtic , won the league every year but still to have glory in europe. Been in the semi final of the champions league twice and beaten in the final of the uefa cup too. Only player from the original squad is McGeady

I started as unemployed. Got the Stranraer job and have brought in 16 players, got linked with St Mirren and am sitting top of the league. I was predicted to be one spot above relegation but i brought in 5 good Dutch players all on frees and all start for me. The best has been John Van Krimpen a Dutch striker scored 19 in 24. One of my best players who is already at Stranraer on the game accepted a contract from Millwall over me so i will need to invest in that position in the summer. Im currently on 21st February and hoping to win the league.
