Thread: Fox News How Fucked Up Is It

I'd say Goebells would be proud of this channel.

Does it even report the news or is it just used to blacken every democrats name.
I dont understand how it can call itself balanced and fair its just fucked up and probaly shows everything that the rest of the world like to hate about America.

I know a couple of our american bhoys are totally against them from reading another thread?
The thing i dont get about it is why? How are they allowed get away with it? Surely they must get law suits and im pretty sure in Ireland and the Uk you would not be allowed to claim you are balanced and fair when you cleary are not.

Are they really the number 1 news channel in the States. It's kind of scarey to think that there's a huge amount of people who believe this shit. God knows what crazy plan they could make the american public believe. Like maybe make some crazy story up about a country having nuclear weapons but just use it as a cover to grab some oil.

It's the number one news station because it's the only one that is conservative. Rupert Murdoch noted a market that hadn't been covered yet (conservative news media) and he exploited it to the max. It's pretty much a caricature of itself now though... it used to be just mildly conservative, but now it's ridiculous. I also don't think its racist. I think Glen Beck is racist, but I really don't think the network is. Just because they have radically different (and stupid) right wing opinions doesn't mean they are fascists. Some of them are crazy libertarian types, which is kind of the opposite of fascism.

i think its great. i stick it on when ive no stand up comedy to watch.

So basiclly it only exists because it was untapped market for murdoch. I was wondering why does it have that agend and how it benefits them and its only for ratings figures.
but would Murdoch also share these right wing beliefs and using the channel for propaghanda for his own political beliefs or is it solely just for personal financial gain.

Both. There's no doubting that Murdoch is a neo-con, but he's also a brilliant businessman, you can hate him while realizing he's got a knack for business. He's conservative, but if that was a saturated market and the liberal news market was dry, you can bet all your money that he'd invest in liberal news rather than conservative news. I just think that for a guy like him, money is more important than propaganda. The fact that he can accomplish both makes him happier, but if he had to choose between the two he'd definitely choose money. He owns Sky News I think... and that's a fairly non-biased news source because, as someone said, the UK wouldn't go for that ultra-conservative news outlet.

Yeah... they really do have some nuts. O'Reilly, Beck, Hannity... there's no doubt that those guys believe what they say.

O'Reilly cracks me up because he's like that cranky grandfather everyone has. I don't think he's harmful, unlike Hannity and Beck. Whenever O'Reilly goes on shows like the Daily Show he's always pretty funny too... you can tell he's a smart guy if just fucking insane.

Have they ever been shown up on their own shows they seem brilliant at deflecting questions and turning things around

Sky News is as right wing as they come over here. The difference is, they do not have opinion based slots like Glen Becks but there reporting is always very biased and at its worst with any conflicts involving the US or Israel.

I avoid it at all costs.
