Yes.
Even worse than I initially thought:
Do you honestly think a pregnant woman should be subject to that kind of hunnish treatment simply because she refuses to store arms in her house?Code:Listening to the crackly tape recording of a woman speaking in the early 1970s, the fear and indignation in her voice rings out as she describes how her sister was taken away by the IRA and tarred and feathered. Walls of silence "They had tins of paint and bags of feathers, she\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s five months pregnant and her husband\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s in Armagh prison, there\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s nothing anyone can do," she said. Her crime was refusing to store ammunition for the IRA in her home.
I fail to see the point you’re making.
“If he wants to learn about scoring goals, he should nip over to watch us train at Lennoxtown some afternoon and I'll show him a thing or two about finishing”
We know right from wrong Clagan. Or do you guys have a monopoly on that ?
Tarring and feathering a pregnant woman is the lowest of the low, absolutely barbaric. And it's carried out by people who have no authority, and no accountability, to dish out the punishments they decide upon. What happens when the wrong person is tarred and feathered ? What happens when those who have appointed themselves as judge and jury transgress ?
Interesting line in the article. And who is the authority? "Whoever has the strongest muscle".
I completely agree. I think this is absolutley disgusting and barbaric bunch of fucking animals who done that to that woman. Did her un-born child deserve that to.
I could understand why people would be extremeley pissed off with what happened but to lower yourself to a dark ages mob is disgusting.
Could you imagine this was the other way around a woman from a loyalist community falls in love with an IRA man and she met the same faith what would be your reaction then? I could bet for a fact it wouldnt be the same.
Its nazi/hun like behaviour
Buzzbhoy I can't tell you how much I respect your posts on this type of subject. Likewise for MC and RK. All of you are proud Irish Republicans but you refuse to condone behaviour, supposedly in the name of Republicanism, which we would all condemn if it was being perpetrated by Brits.
Fair play to you all for that.
An absolutely disgusting thing to do.
I understand it was a very rough time in Ireland, but tarring and feathering a pregnant woman was hardly essential in fighting the occupation.

Everyone should re read the thread. No one condoned the pregnant girl getting it. It was the one who was whoaring herself to a Brit, who a few of us thought deserved it.
What!? In what circumstances could tarring and feathering a pregnant woman be necessary?
It didn't "have to be done" at all!
Stealing a loaf of bread to feed your family is what needs to be done, not severely punishing innocent people.
Anyone- whether there or not, can see that.
