As you find it hard to articulate yourself and express why you dislike his music, you then have to throw personal innuendo at the guy. His drug addiction is absolutely irrelevant to his musical and poetic genius. Who cares what you do when you hear his voice? After all you are stimulated by the tones of Iycke and Kyle.

docherties "poetry" is limited to whats went on in his life . people like marley lennon buckley etc get their creativity from a higher source (which you would probably laugh at the thought of)..iv listened to docherty live and his lyrics arent deep at all..he doesnt speak no intiutive meaningful shit....its shite basically. (IMO)

Docherty had been writing poetry long before he was a Libertine, true you can only write about what you exerience, but being a poet is all about interpetation and context. You do not need an abundance of life experience for that. I have seen him live, many many times and disagree, I believe his music to be a fantastic social commentary of these times.

I used to believe what you are saying about Marley taking his inspiration from a higher source but obviously now I don't. I have grown up. If he was inspired by Jah or whoever, then what about the rest of the Rastafarians? Why have we only had Marley? The truth is he was just a special man, with a special talent. He is no different from you or I, other than being very creative.
