Was reading a very very interesting thread regarding this on another Celtic forum..

So aye, last two derbies McGregor has received abuse and chants about rape

Would you sing them, do you think their justified, or do you think they're on a par with 'who shagged all the bhoys" etc. ?

Couldn't care less, he's a cunt and clearly knows it's true.

And it's not just Celtic... I've heard him being taunted on tele at several games including a league game vs Accies that was on tv!

The term rape has lost much of its social stigma IMO. I hear it being used liberally in the most jovial fashion nowadays… not really a big deal anymore.

I don’t have a problem with is being sung to him, after all, she did say no.

I don’t see it as comparable with the ‘who shagged all the bhoys’ though as that clearly isn’t banter, that is sick. When you bring children into it, it becomes a whole lot more sinister.

We shouldn't go that low. In my opinion, McGregor chants right there aren't acceptable, it's disgusting even for a Hun like him.

Footballers the world over have been subjected to chants about what they have "allegedly" done or not done, this is nothing new, it's par for the course.

They sing vile songs about a man who had fuck all to do with anything, and who is no longer alive to defend himself, there is a world of difference.

As soon as the story came out then he was always gonna get stick for it. I would sing it and have done so at the last two derbies.

The McGregor chants to bother me one way or the other but there's a few things I don't agree with that have been posted.

Just because the guy leads a promiscuous lifestyle doesn't mean he is guilty of rape before it's proven.

The beast chants are not on par with that lots chants about Jock etc.. but it's still stooping to their level. Like Buzzbhoy said, if your going to chant stuff like that don't come on offended by what the manky mob are chanting.

tbh the fact that it hasn't been proven makes it acceptable. It's not like there's any victims that can be offended by it.
