Now that politicians south of the border have sewn things up. We have a government in Westminster with no mandate in this area. This is not the first time this has happened of course, but it is the first time since there has been a devolved Scottish Parliment.
Added to that of course, the SNP are the biggest Party in Holyrood, and to me it is an ideal opportunity for them to present their case for a referendum.
Will the big fat fish have the bollox to push the case now, or will they lie back and take it. . .it's a big question.
Would board members support a referendum ?? do you care ?? how would you vote ?
I would support it.

God Bless Mr Celtic
If there was to be a referendum i would vote yes as i did in 1979 and yes yes as i did in 1997.

I would obviously want it, but not straight away.
I don't think we would get the vote for independence as things stand. Leave the Tories for a couple of years and let them drive the Scottish people to the verge of revolution and then push the referendum through. At the same time the SNP would have to go on a massive PR drive, trying to whip up nationalist sentiment and explaining, in layman's terms, just how much England is now raping us of our commercial and natural resources. I want independence but the referendum has to be handled carefully.
I would vote for it, I would rather try and fail than be the tory parties lab rats from up north.
They pricks treat us like a region rather than a country.
I bet i can maı̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̨̨̨̨̨̨ke you wipe your screen
I have my doubts. . .
does anyone tink a referendum will produce a positive result ??
Not now anyway
The fact that the SNP only got about 30 odd percent (?) of the 2007 vote shows thast the majority of the country at the moment doesnt support independence
Let the tories fuck us over for a while and we'll be errecting a fence on the border before you know it![]()
:confused:Under the current system of devolution for Scotland, the Scottish Government does not have within its remit the power to declare independence from the United Kingdom, with the constitution being a reserved matter for the supreme legislative body in the UK, the Parliament of the United Kingdom, based in Westminster, London.[4] According to the Scottish Government, the proposed referendum is therefore an "advisory referendum on extending the powers of the Scottish Parliament"[20], whose result "will have no legal effect on [the United Kingdom]."[19]
I would like to agree mate, honestly. but i think of the campaign when it comes.
Its scotland. . .you know what is gonna happen, the same as happened in the 70's. it will become a contest between unionist/loyalists against the likes of us, thats how they'll spin it.
added to that the fukkin brits all over the world, scots guards, argyle highlanders and the like. . .then you've got the actual logistics. . .
faslane, defence(brit pish), oil money, cross border companies, high taxation. . .I just dont see it happening. . .It will take an unprecedented mobilisation among the people in scotland to make it happen. . .It will take a complete electoral reform to ensure the majority of people in scotland actually have a vote on it.
Firstly, you need to get a referendum first so people can vote in it.
Secondly, those that believe in independence must grow a pair of balls and go for it.
Get the kailyard, tartan army, shortbread, Alexander Bros, Loch Ness Monster, Edinburgh Castle, pipe bands and dodgy hillwalkers wearing blue kagools together and throw the fucking lot out the nearest window.
Tell the "people" the reasons why they and their families will be better off going the independence road.
As i say, grow a pair of haw maws.
Sensible will get you fuck all.
Sensible and we would still be sitting on wooden benches bolted to the old terracing watching the huns winning 20 in a row and the Kelly's talking about Cambuslang.
Heard all this sensible patter back in 1979.
The tory chunts were in for the next 18 years.
London has NO moral or political reason to hold the Scottish people back.
The ball is firmly in the Scottish People's 18 yard box.
Its up to them to Go for it.
