You've missed the point of this whole incident.
The outrage wasn't because someone committed a foul in a game of football. It was because of the stage, what was at stake. Henry's actions cost a nation months of excitement and pride, and a cherished memory (and possibly more to come in the summer). Not to mention costing the Irish economy literally billions.
So no, when an Ireland player next commits a foul, it isn't some kind of hypocrisy, as (thanks to Henry) there won't be such an occassion for at least four years, and possibly much longer.
This is a very ignorant post BDC, it's shocking that you thought the Irish public could be so arrogant as to be outraged because of a foul.

What the fuck are you going on about? I'm not doubting what you said, believe me- I was as gutted as anyone for what happened.
It was not an ignorant post at all Max. There was up-roar when Eduardo dived against us and then McGeady did the same thing literally a couple of games later (controversial perhaps). Although on a less scale (money wise- as you stated, media etc), we had to be very squeaky clean and we were not. What I'm saying is, Ireland will have to be very professional in the next couple of games.
Stop taking words out of people’s mouth (although, this is a usual trait from yourself so it's not half surprising).
It's a crazy comparison though, how is an Ireland player possibly going to match what Henry did to them, costing Ireland billions etc... ?
The context is vital here, the stage was so huge- it's an isolated event. Robbie Keane isn't going to restore the balance in the next week by, for example, winning a dodgy penalty in a friendly match.
It can't be matched.
This is like saying "that Madeleine McCann has to make sure she never steals any pic n mix after all that fuss about the kidnapping."

Thing is, even at 1-0 we weren’t even going to the WC anyway. We still needed to score another goal.
There is no guarantee we would have won the match on pens.
“If he wants to learn about scoring goals, he should nip over to watch us train at Lennoxtown some afternoon and I'll show him a thing or two about finishing”
Fucking laughable really. Blatter showed his true colours when he laughed at the proposal though. The football equivilant of a capatilist.
