Thread: The ‘official’ SPL stats are wrong - Larsson is the greatest player in SPL history.

Is anyone using the official SPL website for stats?

I’ve been using it to compare Larsson V Boyd, in terms of goals and assists.

However, Larsson’s league goal tally for season 2000/2001 is completely inaccurate.

On the SPL site it is claiming Larsson scored 31 league goals. This is NOT true.

Larsson scored 35 league goals (from 38 games) and this is a British record. No other player in has scored more goals in one season than Larsson.

However, that aside it might interest some to know, Larsson was not only the top goal scorer in the league between 2000-2004 but he was also the top assist maker in the league as well.

Please note, these are only league stats (his overall season records will be higher)

2000/2001

Scored 35 goals and assisted with 18

2001/2002

Scored 29 goals and assisted with 11

2002/2003

Scored 28 goals and assisted with 17 (Amazing considering he missed two months with a broken jaw)

2003/2004

Scored 30 goals and assisted with 16 (Alan Thompson was actually 1st with 17)

It’s even more remarkable Barry Ferguson was named as the Scottish Writers and Players Player of The Year in 2002/2003.

Larsson should have won every single POTY award from 2000-2004.

He is the greatest player in SPL history and he was the greatest striker in Europe during the period, 00-04.

Yeah we totes haven't heard the same fucking arguments about boyd is shitter than larsson in so many threads. It's not as if there was a big big thread about it.

The more we seem angry and pay attention to it the worse it'll be.

It’s not just about Larsson V Boyd.

It’s Larsson's overall stats and I’m sure many Celtic fans will be interested to see that Larsson was the top goal scorer and assist maker in the league between 00-04.

And I'm not angry about it I’m clarifying inaccurate information.

Yeah but no cunt mentions it for days and you just bring it up, it's drawing attention to the boyd vs larsson shite again which genuinely doesn't matter.

Anyone who doubts it just look at the 2 players careers then they will know the answer, people don't need to get fucking obsessive over it.

At the start because you're going on about how much better larssons stats are than boyds.

I can see both angles tbh but it does just seem like a reaction to Boyd breaking the record.

Amazing assist stats though, fucking legend that man was/is.

I didn’t say they were better than Boyd’s. In fact I haven’t even mentioned them in comparison to Boyd’s so that’s untrue.

I said, I came across the stat site whilst looking at their records in the past.

I’ve since noticed some of Larsson’s stats (and Larsson’s alone) were inaccurate.

I’ve also since noticed, Larsson contributed with the most assists and most goals in every season.

I knew he was a fantastic player but I didn’t know his assists would be so high.

I’ve posted the stats for others who might find them quite interesting. I’ve already posted them on 606 and it seems many do find them interesting, R*ngers fans included.

Didn't know that, and this thread is very worthwhile, not just another comparison imo.

It cannot get any worse.

Boyd impersonated Henke's celebration and the angry mob were singing 'stick your Henrik Larrson up your arse,' at the Paradise on Sunday. It's game on.

We are laughing at them, nobody is getting angry or anything. It is just another hun skelping thread.

I agree with Mo on the comparing issue, we wouldn't 'compare' Larsson and Boyd any more than we would the strength of a bull and a fly- it's not worth taking seriously.
