    pre 1990 the only really good players we produced were brady an giles, you had the lions, bremner, baxter, law............ even after then most of our good players werent irish but McGrath, the keanes, duffer were world class at the top of their game.

    Far too many shades of grey here,but if pushed i would say as whole Scotland but in recent years Ireland have produced and are continue to have a better national side with a better record than Scotland ATM!!

    Irelands team in the 90s was barely Irish, most of it was English born and trained.

    Both have had some cracker players through the decades, tbh they're pretty evan. Maybe Ireland (north and south) edges it a bit.

    Wasnt there a player that used "we" when he was asked about the England national team, yet played for Ireland? :confused: Big difference between playing for a country to further your career and playing for a country you truly believe you're part of.
