On the topic of horrible American names, my youth soccer team was named the Starfleet. :o There was this one mom who always shrilled as loud as she could "GOOOOOOO STARFLEEET!!!!" over and over and over... used to make my dad retreat into a shell. He was the only one that group up watching soccer so was utterly horrified by the name.

The one thing I hate about the current state of NCAA is shit like "neutral" bowl games against LSU ... in New Orleans.
All the bowl games are in the south and southwest. Lame.

Yea... and the SEC's penchant for banding together makes it hostile for other teams. Georgians are going to pull for Florida over a non-SEC team despite absolutely detesting each other. It's that overarching Southern "us against them" mentality.

There's a lot of pride in the SEC. I'm sure you can catch that even from talking to me... it's kind of hard to explain but it's a pride thing. It's like if Georgia gets blown out it makes Florida look bad by association.

No, I get that part. And the way BCS polls and ESPiN pundits work it only makes it worse.
I like to see B10(+1) do well ... but, at the end of the day, I only care how tOSU does. If we win the conference, we're guaranteed a BCS game. Can't blame anyone but my own team if we don't take the conference or win a BCS game.
