Don't know if i'd call it a sport but fuck me it's mightily addictive once you start getting into it, am hooked! (I know, i know, funny as fuck int i?).
There's a wee pond just up the road fae me that i've been going to with a mate of mine for the past few month. We've caught about maybe 12-15 fish between us, at least could be more, and there's not been a shiter amongst them. Just the other night i caught a 1lb Rudd, fuckin beautiful wee thing it was. Had another one on that was a fuckin beast, the reason i know is because it was wise enough to know to head for the reeds and the wee fly man got my line snagged. Fair play to him he got away, but i'll be back.
Best one we've caught between us was about a 2 and a half/three lb Bream that my m8 landed. That was about a month or so ago, and the week before i had what could very well have been the same fish, same colour shape and size, and lost it due to the water being higher than usual (fuck knows how it's a pond :confusedand we had no net so i had to try and reel it in over a big mound of mud and unhooked it. Bastard.
One thing i know is this. I WILL catch a fuckin monster out of that pond one day, i've heard there is Carp in it and am determined am goanny catch some absolute belters. And when i do i'll be posting pictures up so yous know am not talking pish![]()

Nice one squire, used to go out the odd time with me da to do a bit of fishing, bog style amateurs like. Relaxing as fuck, enjoy!
Get yersel down the luggieburn sir .Last time I fished there, just between Mollinsburn and Moodiesburn there was trout a plenty (albeit 10 years ago )
And if that fails just kick up to the fish farm in Mollinsburn and do a lazy fish
I like it in the winter more than the summer so haven't started yet this year, it's more my mates thing but I secretly buzz off it. Springburn park is a good place there's some big carp in there and it's a bit of an obstacle course, and yer right they're no daft either![]()
That's what i love about coarse fishing Cashy, you can do it all year round. Big flask a soup and away you go lol.
None of us drive so we just stick to our wee pond, but there's plenty in there to keep us occupied so we're no bothered. Actually we said we'd go back up the canal at one point but when it comes to it we end up goin up the pond, canny get enough of it!

My brother and his friend were sailing Loch Lomond a year ago and their boat tipped over, seems like a rough area for just being on the water.
As for fishing, I caught my first tiny little trout when I was about 6, and never looked back. It's incredible fun and relaxing to just chill there catching some fish.
I haven't been in a while, mostly we (my family) started doing crab and once we moved out to California we stopped even doing that. Nothing too big though as far as catching fish, definitely nothing notable, just mostly 2-5lbs as the biggest stuff I've caught ... although I probably win the prize for most interesting catch. I swear to you, I caught a clam once with a fishing pole. It was the most bizarre thing ever. The look on my friend's face was pretty great.
