Tonight 2am Sky Sports 1
My head says Mayweather, but my heart says Marquez.
Marquez by split decision.
Thoughts?

I'm perplexed with this one, I really cannot pick a winner.
Marquez is probably my favourite fighter in any weight division but I also respect how good Mayweather is at the same time.
I want Marquez to win because, as I said, he is my favourite, but there is also a part of me that would like to see Mayweather win just to get a Mayweather/Pacquio fight on.
I'd say Mayweather is the slight favourite but only because Marquez has never fought at this weight before but it could go either way.
It has the makings of a classic. This is real prize fighting boxing, not a Ricky Fatton sideshow, both fighters are pugilists and at the top of the game.
Here's a brilliant Mayweather quote I heard last night: "All that matters is what goes on in that square circle."I'm picking Mayweather though.

vBookie for it
Mon the Marquez!
i hope Mayweather gets fucked, it's a tough one to call, i would say maywether is the better fighter, but haven not fought in almost two years, he's bound to be a bit rusty,
i'm going Mayweather win,
I agree , both fighters are at the top of their proffesion.
For too long now, British boxing promoters have been matching up fighters with absolute jokes and charging cunts at least 15 quid for the privelage to watch.
As soon as most of them branch out to America or more importantly Mexico, they are found wanting.
Glad this one is on normal Sky, because I would gladly shell out to watch this.

Yeah mate, that is what I was asking Diegan. I too, was expecting to pay for it and I would have had no qualms in doing so.
It's not some bum being talked up by Frank Warren, here we have two guys who can truly be considered the best boxers in the world. Only Manny Pacquio is better and maybe Bernard Hopkins should be spoke of in the same league.
Amir Khan is another, like Hatton or Naseem Hamed, as soon as he gets in with another decent fighter - it will be lights out!!!!
That's why I lean ever so slightly towards UFC these days, they're not afraid to pit the best against the best.
Boxing sometimes seems to be about getting a 20+-0 record as soon as and getting them on box office.
hopefully people start realising and turn off box office and we get back to watching what we should be already getting anyway with paying for the normal sports channels

I don't like UFC really mate, I like it when they go toe to toe but all that wrestling turns me right off... I get what you mean about their records though, that is commendable.
In America it is pretty rare to have a 100% record anyway and it does not merit the same respect it does over here. They just think it is a hallmark of someone who has pick and chose his fights, which is spot on. Look at another of my favourites, Marco Antonio Barrera,he fought 60 odd times and was beat about 5 or 6 but is considered one of the best ever.
It's all about the cash though mate, terrestial TV just cannot raise the sums of PPV to give the prize fighters that bit extra. However, as we said earlier, if it was regular battles with quality opposition - then I doubt folk would mind too much in paying for it.
Want Marquez to win and I reckon he will.
The more you refuse to hear my voice, the louder I will sing.
just about to start, everyone still awake? :ha:
