FORMER Wimbledon champ Andre Agassi has admitted taking crystal meth during his glittering tennis career.
The eight-time grand-slam winner said he was caught using the potentially fatal drug in 1997.
He claimed he turned to the class A drug as his form slumped and he had doubts about his impending marriage to actress Brooke Shields.
But despite testing positive, he escaped a three-month ban and professional ruin by lying to tennis authorities.
The 1992 Wimbledon champ was let off after telling the Association of Tennis Professionals that his assistant had accidentally spiked him with the highly addictive amphetamine.
Agassi, 39, made the shocking revelation in his autobiography, Open.
He said: "My name, my career, everything is now on the line. Whatever I've achieved, whatever I've worked for might soon mean nothing. I feel ashamed, of course."
The ATP reviewed the case before throwing it out.
Fuck sakes what a way to sell your book![]()
Fuck sake, that's a shocker.
Was always one of my favourite players.
You've got to wonder what his motives are for doing this, he can't be short of a few bob, can he?
Unless he's bankrupt from all the meth he's been buying.
"Celtic is important to me in as much as it's one of the only constants in my life over the years. I have changed and become various things but it is the one constant. Religion, friendships have come and gone, likes and dislikes have come and gone, but Celtic has remained." - Billy Connolly
Must be needing or really wanting the cash, 99 out of 100 would of kept quiet.
I'm not buying his book anyway.![]()
