Annoying thing was I'd managed to play my way from 1,000 chips (what we started with) to 3,000 in the first 30 minutes or so. That was without hitting anything better than a pair, and with no all ins either, I properly played my way up. Then it's all gone in one hand.

You should have come over the top of him on the flop, put him to the test.

Not really a bad beat as such considering he was driving the action, a flop re raise from you would have got rid of him, by just calling you're giving him chances to hit his overcard against your shaky middle pair.

    Still sick though.
Nah, he made the right play. If the guy has a higher pair, he insta-calls. If he has AK or two high cards, he folds and Max misses out on the bet on the turn. By stringing him along, he gives the guy enough rope to hang himself (which he did). In my opinion, the potential extra chips you gain by doing this more than offsets the risk of a bad beat.

It's evened itself out tonight. Just won 30 quid, my winning hand in heads up was quad eights. First two cards on the flop gave me my quads as well. Just strang him along with checks until he went for the all in bluff.

Went out in 2 hands the other night just round a mate's house. Lost all but a hundered on pocket Aces to pocket 4s after the madman raised all in pre flop. Lost the last of it on King Ace suited to pocket 8s. Pretty unavoidable.

Off to the casino tonight, prepare to hear a tale of how I lost on quad kings to quad aces.

I took down a couple hundred bucks last night. No real exciting hands. Mostly just people overplaying mediocre hands and getting buttraped.

Been playing a wee freeroll on Pokerstars, hovering around 8th out of 5,000ish. Hitting some cracking pockets to be fair.

    Damn mother fucker cunt cocks.

Only the small blind left in pre-flop, i sat big blind with pocket 10s looking to double up, so all in, he then calls with J6.

Flop; K36. I'm thinking sweet just need to dodge Js and 6s and i'm all good. Turn; Ace. Just one more card to go and i'm doubled up and sitting pretty to get a final table finish out of 9,000 entrants.

    River; 6.

    Cunt.

Been making some hero lay downs the night in a wee tourney.

Just folded trip Js off the flop (8J pocket), asked the guy to show and he had trip Js with 9 kicker. Defintely one aspect of my game i'm improving a lot; throwing away good hands and folding when all you wanna do is go all in.

Bah. Need to start making more final tables.

Keep making the a last say 200 out of 10,000 but need to push on when feeling comfortable to really make cunts pay.

    Lol just got quad 3s!

Checked them on the flop (had trips), checked them on the turn (got 4th 3), no action, held my nerve and checked again and the bugger on the button got caught with his hand in the cookie jar big style, nice wee double up.

Only just starting to play poker to try and make some dough, got my card registered yesterday on PS instead of doing freerolls all the time. Cutting my teeth in a few micro limit tourneys.

Made my first final table already, finished 3rd (out of 360) with a bad beat that left a nasty taste. Ah well, looking forward to gearing towards the slightly higher stakes games when i could get a few hundred for 3rd instead of a fiver haha.
