Just thought i'd make this for general poker craic and how we're doing to keep it appart from the 'poker challenge' league stuff.

Playing on PokerStars, want to go to me bed but i'm in a tourney (have been for last 3 hours lol). 4,000 entered, 500 odd left, i'm 45th out of the 500 sitting on a stack of chips so can't just quit lol, wanna go all the way now.

Where do you lads play yer poker?

Ach ya hoor ye! Knocked out of the tourney after 4 and a half hours, was on a tilt big time, went all in on 10/10 so did a guy with A/8, and he hit the Ace on the river. Gutter.

Finished 81st out of 4,000 entrants though so done alright.

    Time for bed.

I didn't know you played on PS Dusty.

I'll be starting my horse tourney on pokerstars in about 30 minutes.

Well in T, had yer man hook line and sinker!

I can't really get into the variants, played a bit of Omaha but didn't like it. NL Hold 'em is my only game really although i like a bit of Stud too. Only just recently registered on PS mate, had been lookin for a good site, was on PKR but it's bollocks imo.

I hate stud, razz and any form of fixed limit games. I don't mind Omaha, especially high-low because so many people don't understand the value of a hand that can scoop the pot. At the end of the day, NL TH is still the best.

Just my opinion, but the action and amount of fish on Full Tilt is better than PokerStars, although I don't really play tournaments at all.

Have never ventured out of Hold 'em. I think I've played it so much that I'd turn my nose up at any other variety of poker.

I thought that too, until I tried other variations.

Mind you, I'm winning at other variations and I'm not great at hold em, so I would say that.

Each to there own I suppose

Other games tend to be a little more technical/math-based than hold 'em which is more of a read-based game.

To get a bit technical, how the fuck do you guys play low pockets? Big shove pre-flop? Limp in and try and get lucky? Fucking hate low pockets.

Much prefer live games myself too, don't like the idea that I could lose a hand if my internet cut out.

If you're in a cash game or the early stages of a tournament (basically, anything deep stacked), play them as cheaply as possible before the flop because their value comes from hitting a set and getting paid off rather than actually having a pair. A lot of people play low pairs way too hard before the flop in these situations, it should be a hand that you don't invest too much before the flop and can throw away if you miss.

If you're late in a tournament where blinds and antes are high, get your money in before the flop. I would advise not to play them too aggressively out of position because the last thing you want is to be all-in as a 4:1 dog or get re-raised before the flop with them.

Play on 888.com. Most I've won at one tournament is $150 coming second in a $2 entry fee. All the others have been between $20-$60. Saying that I've probably lost a bit more than I've won.

Anyone on here play on Pacific?
