Wouldn't even call myself a fan or anything but i watch the late night NBA highlights on C5 if i catch them, mon the Celtics!![]()
Not much, enjoyed playin it when I was younger and what not, but not that clued up on the going ons of it these days at all. More of a MLB guy myself.
It's funny, baseball is my least favorite of the "big 4" in America (hockey, basketball and football being the others). I enjoy going to the games but for me, it moves too slow to watch on television, there's not enough action and there's no parity in the game. The team I support has about 1/10 the payroll of the Yankees.

Surprised there was no mention of basketball here, although I know it's not very popular in UK. Hopefully you guys get more interested in it during 2012 Olympics. It's an awesome sport.
Gonna shock you all, but my favourite team is Boston Celtics.
Didn't follow much of it lately, but I followed regularly during their run in 2008 when they won the ring in play-off final against Lakers.
Also, anybody watching European basketball (Euroleague, ULEB Cup etc.)?
I hate the Celtics, they're a bandwagon team. I love watching old Larry Bird highlights though.
There isn't one team that everyone supports, but the most popular for football are probably the Seahawks and Packers but they are by no means a majority. Baseball, basketball and hockey are even more random. The problem is that the Seattle is the nearest city with major league sports teams and it is a 4 hour flight from Anchorage so there's no geographical connection there.
same here, been to a cubs game before which was ace but that was for the whole thing rather than just the game. I like the bulls from my time in chicago and the celtics as when i was little my aunt brought me a shirt home from a trip over there. They lost last night though but still lead the series
It's not the creed or nationality that counts, it's the man himself
Celtic - more than just a club

Played it in High school and its shite, maybe that because we were only doing it for formations and shit though.
Fucking loved playing it in high school. Always a good time at PE when the teachers couldnt be arsed or anything, so just telt us to go play football or basketball. Did we fuck learn about formations or anything, just fanny'd about. good times.
This may actually explain the lack of football talent in scotland, the lack of motivation from the PE teachers when we played footy etc lol.
My high school basketball team was absurd. There was a kid from another school in the city that plays in the NBA now and we used to beat his team by about 30 every game.
I loved playing basketball in PE too. I hated the smaller court games we had that would have like 4 v 4 because you never had the space to pull anything off and all you needed to do was be able to chase the ball and take a decent shot and you were great. I loved the proper full court games though. Really wish we did more on basketball in the schools and cared about it more in scotland in general. I'd follow a scottish basketball league if we had a decent one on the go that even had a little tv coverage.
Oh and Basketball is much, much more fun that Football when you're baked.
Fuck the Lakers. The guy that scored the winning basket is best known for this:

One of the best defensive players in the game though.
