When'd he say that? I didn't hear
Though I seen on Celtic underground's twitter that Liewell said that they will sign someone fit enough to wear the number 7.
nah, don't think there's a thread been made mate. Pual said something about Lennon saying something about not ruling it out when a SSN interviewer asked him about Bellamy coming to CP.
Personally i would fucking love to see it happen. It would ignite the support and he would give us what Keane gave us for the latter part of last season - someone who can score goals! Like i said in the earlier thread though, it's all going to depend on how much he is going for. If it's for 6/7 million then the only way the board will go for it is if it's a loan - they wouldn't fork that amount of money out on a 31 year with no re-sale value. Or if he was going for 3/4 million then hope he takes a wage cut and signs cos we'd get another 2/3 maybe even 4 seasons out of him.
Lennon just about to come on SSN talking about Bellers in a few minutes btw
Would love it, but if we're short of cash (as Lennon stated today) then striker is not the position we should be looking at.
I would much rather we bought quality at the back.
Pity he put all his striker eggs in one basket by signing Hooper and Murphy, no more strikers needed imo.
Would love Bellamy back.
Not getting my hopes up though.
This is all we're getting from SSN
Celtic boss Neil Lennon is remaining coy on speculation linking the club with a move for Manchester City star Craig Bellamy.
Bellamy's future at City looks uncertain with Roberto Mancini bringing in David Silva already this summer and with Mario Balotelli possibly arriving from Inter Milan it could push Bellamy down the pecking order at Eastlands.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed his interest in Bellamy, while new Fulham chief Mark Hughes is thought to be keen on being reunited with his fellow Welshman at Craven Cottage.
However, Celtic could be about to enter the chase for the former Newcastle and Liverpool forward.
Bellamy enjoyed a spell on loan at Celtic in 2005 and Lennon has refused to rule out a move for his former Bhoys team-mate.
"I wouldn't like to say anything at the moment," he said when asked about reports of a move for Bellamy.
When asked whether the club were in a position to pull off that sort of transfer, he replied: "I would hope so but I don't know. It's still up in the air regards that."
Hopefully get em back playin for the hoops

and more:NEIL LENNON wants Craig Bellamy to come in and lift the gloom over Celtic Park after watching his side crash out of Champions League contention at the first hurdle last night.
Lennon remained surprisingly upbeat in the aftermath of the 2-1 win over Braga, despite a 4-2 aggregate loss.
And he's still hopeful former fans' favourite Bellamy could be on his way north from Manchester City for a second stint at the club he left after a six-month loan spell in 2005.
Lennon knows second-half goals from new boys Gary Hooper and Efrain Juarez did little more than salvage some respectability for Celtic even if he insisted he was "delighted" with the performance of his players.
Asked about growing speculation in England that a Bellamy deal is edging closer, the Hoops boss said: "I wouldn't like to say anything at the minute on that.
"I would hope we could make a signing like that - we would all hope so.
"But it's still up in the air. I don't know if we will but if not , we have a lot of attacking options as it is.

Oh God I would jizz - cant see it happenning though
With Fulham and Spurs sniffing around I just can't see it happening tbh.
It would only become a reality if Bellers actually wants to come here and take a wage cut.
If its just a straight shootout between us and Spurs and Fulham then we've no chance.
I honestly think he'll come mate. He's stated that he has unfinished business up here and also that he doesn't want to sign for another EPL team. That coupled with the fact that he was Lennons old team mate is what i think will sway it in our favour. It's just going to be a matter of will the board fork out the cash if City don't want to loan him to us?
Bellamy loved it here loved Celtic. I think if the right offer is made to him he wouldn't have to think twice about it.
believe it when i see it, lennon seems to say things we all as fans want to hear, his first words when he was appointed manager was ' i will not give up the fight for keane , he's a player i want by my side and he's ones the fans want' look how well that worked out
its not lennons fault i realise that but he really needs to learn that we as fans are use to the crap the board keep doing and by him building up our hopes for nothing just makes it worse
Spurs bid 8million i hear.
It,s a couple of fucking full backs we need most of all IMO!!!
I take Lennon's comments as "I'd like to see him here but I don't know so I'm not saying anything".
brilliant player - won't happen
City won't sell to Spurs as they're CL rivals, and it's not as if City need the money.
