Seems he wants to come, do we need him though?
Lawrence told the Evening Times: "I want a new challenge and, if it comes about, I will be chomping at the bit to achieve things at Celtic because they need to push this year and win things again.
"I have had some little bits of banter with Aiden as well.
"I spoke to him the other day and fired him a text because I knew he was off to Russia. I'm not telling you what I said though.
"It's a massive, massive move for him and it's an important decision both football-wise and for him and his missus."
Not sure that we do need him now, You've got Forrest looking good on the right as well as Fortune. Cha can play there as well and Niall McGinn will be coming back during the season. On the left Paddy McCourt reminded us yesterday that's the only position he can play, useless when he comes inside, so we've got him and Sammy looking good on the left. I wouldn't bother no, use the money on Ramis.
tbh don't know much about him, but would have thought the priority would have been further back in the line up. We need a LB, and at least one right sided CB, and could probally do with a keeper. We appear to have enough in the middle of the park, and even out wide. Forrest looks a good prospect, Sammy and Fortune do a job out there, and we have Shaun so although a good winger would be nice a good defender is essential.........
Use the money on a GK, two CB's and a LB.
Like Pedro said, there are other priorities but if we're selling McGready for 9.5m and getting Lawro in for about 2 I'd be pretty happy
not seen that much of Lawrence to be honest.
was he keeping Aiden out of the Republic team ?
lawrence has withdrawn from the roi squad citing a groin strain, wonder if this transfers the real reason
Can't say am to fussed tbh, we need to be focusing on our defense.

Liam Lawrence has ended his wait to see whether Celtic would come calling for his services. The Stoke City winger, who previously said he was waiting for a call to move to the SPL after Aiden McGeady’s switch to Moscow, says he is now committed to the English Premier League side.
The Republic of Ireland international made continued noises about his proposed transfer to Neil Lennon’s team throughout the summer, recently saying he had been informed he would be called upon when McGeady’s move was complete.
With the Celtic player yet to tie up his £9.5 million transfer to Russia, Lawrence’s patience appears to have snapped. Now, with the new season set to get underway in England, he says he is instead focusing on breaking into Tony Pulis’ side.
“The idea of a move to Celtic was really appealing at the end of last season,” Lawrence told the Scottish Sun. “It has gone on for so long now and they have bought a lot of players.
“Clearly, they've had plenty of opportunity to come and get me but for whatever reason it hasn't happened. Stoke have been brilliant with me, stating they were prepared to give me the chance of a move if the conditions were right.
“I really wanted the opportunity to play for Celtic. If they had come in for me I would've been happy to go. With things dragging on it has given me time to reconsider everything.
“I have had a brilliant pre-season with Stoke, I've really enjoyed it, and now I feel I've got to be fair with them. I feel the best thing for me now is to stay and try to play in the Premier League.
“The whole Celtic thing has just gone on too long and I need to now draw a line under it.”
Lawrence’s former Sunderland team-mate Daryl Murphy, who did clinch a move to Glasgow in the summer, had stated on Tuesday he was keen to see the winger at Parkhead, believing he would have plenty to offer in the SPL.
“I know Liam from my time at Sunderland and he`s a very good player,” said Murphy. “He will give a bit of balance on the right side of midfield. He’s a hard worker and is a very good at deliveries, and pops up with a lot of goals.
“There are a lot of names being linked with the club, but if it was to come off it would be a very good signing.”
'IF YOU GET TIRED, OF JUST HANGIN AROUND
PICK UP A GUITAR, AND SPIN A WEB OF SOUND'
Wasn't fussed either Squire, would rather see a new defence (inc. GK) tbh.
won't sleep now after hearing this![]()
Don't need him anyway. If Paddy can sustain a decent level of fitness and keep up the form that he was in at the weekend there then he'll be more than able to fill that roll.
I don't like wingers anyway. McCourt floating in just behind the forwards is what I'm after.
Let's get a goal scorer and the defenders we need including a keeper.
he'll still come i reckon, just trying to spped it all up with this
I was hopin to see em in the hoops next season but the defence definitly needs looked at first.
Back in for him it would appear
