Honduras international Emilio Izaguirre is believed to be heading to Glasgow on Saturday night, ahead of a six-figure transfer to Celtic.

Emilio Izaguirre, the Honduran left-back linked with a move to R*ngers on Friday, is understood to be travelling to Glasgow on Saturday night. However, STV Sport believes the defender is instead bound for Celtic, with the Motagua player moving for a fee of just under £580,000.

Izaguirre, who played two of Honduras' games at the 2010 World Cup and has 44 caps, will complete another part of Neil Lennon's defensive puzzle for the new season, with the Hoops also due to confirm the signing of Swedish central defender Daniel Majstorovic on Saturday.

Motagua officials and the player himself have been cautious not to reveal the identity of the 24-year-old's destination, for fear of scuppering the transfer. However, reports from Honduras on Friday night claimed that Izaguirre was Celtic bound, despite interest from their Glasgow rivals, Toronto and another European club.

"This is being handled in secret by Motagua and we do not want to interfere with the negotiations,” a source close to the player told El Heraldo on Friday night. “But Emilio is going to Celtic, as the club presented the best financial offer.”

He's decent... better than Mulgrew, not better than Hinkel of last year. But he's young.

According to his wiki he's signed for us and has been given the #3 shirt. Happy days, hopefully we never see mulgrew in a Celtic shirt again!

Yeah I think it's worth bearing in mind that this guy isn't a 100% thing. Saying that, the Honduran league with its horrible fields and officiating can make some players look bad. A lot of very good players have had problems getting out of there... Wilson Palacios is one guy nobody wanted to take a chance on until Wenger told Steve Bruce he would be an idiot not to pick him up. This isn't a huge portion of our transfer fee but the potential is there (in the sense that this could be a good buy, not that we have to wait for 4 years to see if he justifies the money).

Not the best of promos but how many times do we say that you can't judge a player on these videos? Just relieved that we are at least trying to oust Charlie from the starting 11.

You can't judge players from promo vids when they actually look good. If they look shit in a promo vid, made by their agents trying to advertise what he can do, it's another matter altogether

He's actually a very good crosser of the ball..well from the very little I've seen him. He ripped apart the Toronto FC (yeah I know is just an MLS squad) in the two legs of the CONCACAF Champions League qualifier.
