West Bromwich Albion have added former loanee Marc-Antoine Fortuné to their list of potential strikers.

The 29-year-old forward is currently with Celtic following a five-month spell with the Baggies in 2008-09.

Fortuné scored five goals during Albion’s unsuccessful fight against relegation before following Tony Mowbray to Celtic on a permanent deal from Nancy.

He has scored 12 goals for the Glasgow club.

Although Fortuné is not regarded as a goalscorer, he is highly thought of in the role of a lone striker, which would fit the system being used by Roberto Di Matteo.

Albion’s interest remains at a preliminary stage, however, with the French-Guyanan merely one of several frontmen being monitored as the transfer window enters its final fortnight.

Sounds like bollocks to me and it would be stupid business by Celtic if they did do it. We need big Fortune the now.

I doubt he'll be going anywhere, although I'm pretty sure our board have a price in mind, so you never know....

He’s kind of growing on me.

I wouldn’t be willing to sell him for what we paid for him.

It would have to be for profit.

It's on the Celtic Rumours Twitter page that the deals worth £5m or something?

    There's no way he's a lone striker.

PREMIERSHIP new boys West Brom are lining up a swoop for Celtic striker Marc-Antoine Fortune.
And another Hoops hitman, Morten Rasmussen, could also be moving south with Championship side Barnsley keen to snap up the Dane.
Fortune, bought by former gaffer Tony Mowbray for £3.8million from Nancy last summer, enjoyed a successful loan spell at the Hawthorns two seasons ago.
And now Baggies boss Roberto di Matteo wants the 29-year-old Frenchman to bolster a squad reeling from an opening-day 6-0 drubbing by Chelsea. Rasmussen only moved to Celtic Park in January but has failed to secure a regular first-team place.
And Neil Lennon is now ready to offload the 25-year-old if Barnsley boss Mark Robins meets Celtic's asking price.
Meanwhile, Lennon has been dealt a massive blow with £2m striker Gary Hooper ruled out for six weeks.
Hooper tore his left calf in last week's friendly with Blackburn and will miss Thursday's Europa League clash with Utrecht.
He's also out of SPL clashes with St Mirren, Motherwell, Hearts, Kilmarn

More on this, and LOOK Rassa is off to Barnsley imagine that eh?Seems the daily rectum is using vital football or some pish for it sources now
