    Yobo heads for Scotland
    by Colin Udoh 18/08/2010, 22:14

Joseph Yobo could be on his way to Scotland on a one-year loan deal, sources close to the player have told SuperSport.com.

The Nigerian international has been frozen out of the Everton starting team since his return from the African Cup of Nations in February, and is keen to rack up playing minutes.

"A number of clubs have indicated their interest in having him, and Everton have no objections," a source close to the player told SuperSport.com.

"But the firm interest has come from Scotland and discussions are taking place."

Although no club was mentioned, Celtic are believed to be in the forefront of discussions and a deal is expected to be sealed within days.

would take him always like him far better than loovens and hoiveld and we dont yet know how good the big swede is. sign him then get rid of more deadwood thats lurking about our excuse of a defence.

I would always be cautious of gettin rid of too much 'deadwood'
We got rid of that last pair of chuckle brothers too hastily when we brought Rogne and Hooiveld in, and look what happened.
If Yobo is in, along with the big swede, and O'dea away on loan again. I would keep both Loovens and Hooiveld. get rid of one of them and we are left with only rogne and thompson mind.
    Need the cover.

I think he'd do well at the back for celtic, hes a consistent performer. Certainly would be an improvement over what we have with loovens prone to daydreaming at times.

I'd be happy with this and a keeper .. think we'd definetely win the league with that squad. Make it happen Lenny!

I doubt they would want a defender as priority tbh. I'm sure this dude plays at left back sometimes as well.

At this stage mate I'd play zaluska at left back before that clown mulgrew! Not sure of him playing left back right enough, although I could be wrong. Always seen him as an out and out CB.

Aye, was it not Lescot that played LB for Everton at times?

    Cha/Hinkel - Majstorovic - Hooiveld/Yobo - Izaguirre

Things at the back look so much better like that...

He is a CB no doubt but I think they put him there a couple of times.

It was Lescott more often. I might be wrong but I think he did in an emergency for them.

We only need one at the back, big Danny Bhoy. Allowing for 9 outfield players in the opposition half at all times. Even when we're 6-0 up on the huns.
