Would he be the marquee signing promised?. Would he have the same impact as his loan spell?. Would there be the same euphoria as the first time or would some view him as second choice to Bellamy? Would he be the number 7 we want? Do we believe the rumours that we have put a bid in and are in talks with Spurs? At 6m with little to no resale would three years of Robbie be good business? Good for the Club? Or part of a myopic signing policy?
We know Lennon wants him, we know Arry wants to sell him, we know none of the top EPL teams want him so his choice is stay where he is and be a bit player playing in front of a support where a growing percentage have never forgiven him for his Liverpool hiatus. Go to a midtable EPL team and see out his career, or possibly move to Celtic, play in front of a crowd who love him compete for trophies, play in cup finals and end his career with some winners medals.
Would this be the best way for Lennon to spend his transfer budget?

Not all conspiracies are theories.
fs thought we where linked with him there.
Yes, a thousand times yes.
He would pay back his transfer fee in one season.
Ahhh... got my hopes up.
There are shouts he's fell out with Joe Jordan and that we have had a £5.7m bid turned down for him .

Could be baws though
More so than Bellers!
we signed Hartson, Sutton etc for the £6million mark and had no resale on them, but these type of players pay their transfer value back in goals, trophies, and merchandise.
The club would recoup it all within this one season, and he is most definately capable hitting 30+ goals up here, just in the league!
forget it
Good cop and bad cop have left for the day :

Fuck yes I would take him. Apparently he rejected West Ham because he wants to come back to Celtic.
I'd rather have Bellamy.
But I wouldn't say no to Keane.
I'd have Bellers, Keano or anyone else who'd score 25+ goals in the SPL... Just make it happen Reid, Lawwell, Desmond, Lenny!
We can all live in hope but i doubt this will happen.
wont happen
If he is not needed by Tottenham, and wants to come here, refusing West Ham in the process, then it's game on. Number 7 is his.
Aw ffs! Shame on you making me cream myself like that!
Actually thought they were in talks or something.
Anyway cant see it happening at all.
I'd rather have had Bellamy, tbh. Don't really like Keane's greeting face every time something doesn't go his way, or his constant complaints about everything but himself up here. Just get on with the fucking football, ffs. Plus he wasn't all that great either. I'm sure there's better players out there for that price and younger too.
He had his chance, and has never exactly voiced his desire to be back here. Only now that he realises he's unwanted by Spurs he might consider. Next, please.
He wasn't all that great? He was immense from where I was sitting, not since Henke have we had such an intelligent frontman making clever runs and bagging the goals.
As for the bolded part, I couldn't give a shit if he only wants to come here because Spurs don't want him, It's not often players of his class are willing to play in the SPL. If that is a major reason for you not wanting him then I'd say you're cutting your nose off to spite yer face.
"Celtic is important to me in as much as it's one of the only constants in my life over the years. I have changed and become various things but it is the one constant. Religion, friendships have come and gone, likes and dislikes have come and gone, but Celtic has remained." - Billy Connolly
If we sign Keane, we'll win the League. If we don't, it's in the balance.
