Nancy defender Jordan Loties will this week complete a season long loan move to Scottish club Celtic FC with the Glasgow club taking the option to buy the player for a fee of 1.6M Euro.
Loties played 22 matches in Ligue 1 last season but has now fallen behind in selection to Michael Chretian who has recovered from injury.
Nancy manager Pablo Correa did not want to lose Loties but respects the players wish for a higher standard of football, “Celtic play in front of 60,000 supporters, something we cannot offer at Nancy. Jordan is almost at his peak so will be looking to impress in Glasgow and we wish him well. We have plenty cover with Michael returning and must think of our budget.”
The hard tackling defender who is 190cm tall can also play in midfield and Celtic manager Neil Lennon sees the Frenchman as a valuable addition to his new squad as he looks to add strength to his teams creative playing style.
Celtic are believed to have paid a fee to take Loties on loan and will cover 100% of his 8,000 Euro per week wage.
Loties will be available for selection in the Europa League since Nancy failed to qualify for European competition this season and will enter the squad for Celtic’s match on Sunday away to Motherwell
From cqn ,pretty much says we have signed the lad ,which is the only reason I posted it.
Never heard of him tbh
Dunno what to make of this one tbh
6" 6' tall, decent age/experience at 26 years old, with his best years just coming up, and it's a loan deal with the option to buy, which suite me just fine.
But the selling point for me has got to be this (from the wonderful wiki):
He stated his hatred and the chance to break Kyle Lafferty's legs were his reason for picking the Scottish giants.![]()
How many fucking signings are we actually planning on making?
Strange one this. Ok we've farmed out Thompson and O'Dea so fair enough if Lenny wants a bit of cover at the back, but your Misun and Rogne are next in the pecking order behind your Danny, Loovens and Hooiveld, hope this lad doesn't jump the queue because I want to see what Misun and Rogne are really capable of, they need games.
Apparently he can play right back too. Hinkel on his way?
Aye forgot that when I posted.
6'6" - sounds like a big bhoy, him and Big Dan as our 2 CB's will make for a very imposing defence!
Believe it when i see it on the Celtic website mind you.
