Would you re-sign Naka? he's only 32 and never really done it in Spain but I think he would be great for us up here again. Would add an Actual influential Winger instead of playing Strikers as Wingers for a change

His time has passed. Not for me.

We need all sorts of other positions.

    Pish idea man!
Takes up a player space and weakens the midfield too much, simply for the one moment of magic he can do every other game. Not worth it.
The midfield needs time to settle and control games, Naka cant do that!
Idealy you would want him played behind the two strikers, and not out wide, but even then, he'd be knocked off the ball to much in there and still weaken our midfield. We have good passers of the ball in the squad!

Hahaha... We talk about it, and he opens up a thread. Nice. About Naka? Deffo. Gimme a 3-3-2-2 with Ki and the Sorcerer of Yokohama behind the 2 strikers, and we'll crush anyone. And it's not one moment of magic. It's excellent ball control, possession keeping(we seem to have missed that last night), unselfishness, and... hello to dangerous set pieces, again.

For those afraid of being frail in the middle, what about 3-4-2-1? Kayal and Juarez hold the middle, a bit in front of them Naka and Ki. Gimme those 4 central midfielders, and I'll be laughing!

He would have been a passenger last night as he was in most Euro and Old F**m games.

It's ludicrous cos he's past his best, simple as! And Leone, you cannot compare Naka to Lubo - 2 totally different players with, imo, Lubo being the better of the 2. He's too lightweight and tbh I don't think he would fit in with Lennons way of playing.

I'm just saying Naka may do well, despite his age, just like Lubo did well. And Lennon could accommodate both destroyers and creators in a 5 or 6-man midfield. With Kayal and Juarez(or Brown) getting stuck in, we'd be okay, and Nakamura, together with Ki, could rip open defenses.

You're almost admitting that having Naka in the middle would involve needing to add more midfielders, thus taking away from defenders when we need more!

I don't know do we need more defenders. We need to set the team right, then, even 3 is enough. I think the numerical advantage in midfield would be very useful.

    Desperately!
RB we only have Cha due to Hinkels injury, LB is still questionable, and even if Emilio turns out alright, Mulgrew is gash!
Cb we have Dhanny bhoy as the only decent one there, Hoovield is looking like not living up to his words, Loovens is shite, and we let Thmopson go on loan leaving two inexperienced youngsters in Rogne and Misun. Another CB of the same level of quality as Dhanny at least!
Also strikers to come in before we think of another midfielder, let alone bringing back a guy who we know goes missing, is lightweight, is starting to loose his pace, cant deliver a ball for shit from corners. Has a cracking freekick, but I'd rather have a 25+ goal scorer in first, before a guy who can net 8freekicks a season, which is his one and only selling point to a club these days. Great player when here, not good enough anymore.

Juarez can fill in at RB. LB-Ledley fills in, and he's doing fine there. Hopefully Izaguirre is good. Rogne and Mišun are good enough for the first team, IMO. I agree with you, a tall, VoH-like striker would be nice, since we just loaned Rasmussen. Naka could add some more technical quality to the midfield. He and Ki could rip apart teams with passes, if paired together. And when Naka was here, we scored from set pieces often, not just Naka, but people like Vennegoor, Mick, and even Caldwell, to whom Shunsuke crossed. That segment drastically worsened when he left.

fs people want to take away defenders from an already shite defence, to beef up the midfield. HOLY SHIT !!!!!

you do realise that problem is with conceeding goals i.e defence/goalkeeper.

It's actually 5 defenders, if the WB-s go back all the way, in the defense phase.

Naka can't get a game for japan nowadays, shadow of his former self wouldn't be good for us or for him.
