That's what the huns liked to say about Henke mate.
You can only play what's infront of you.
I actually think the same as you regarding Keane, but if he ends up coming back here on a years loan because no one else wants him, and bangs in 40 goals, then I'll be a happy man.
"Celtic is important to me in as much as it's one of the only constants in my life over the years. I have changed and become various things but it is the one constant. Religion, friendships have come and gone, likes and dislikes have come and gone, but Celtic has remained." - Billy Connolly
The quality of players were better then, plus he done it against the huns, each and every time. If Keane ever scores 51 in a season, he can be compared to Henke. Until then, there's no comparison.
Fair enough, there's no doubting he's a quality striker. Just don't like players using our club as a stepping stone, and as last choice.
Been thinking about the Keane situation. Loads of questions. Does he want to play up here? Will Spurs let him? Will we pay his wages? Does he think he's achieved enough to become a legend here? Does he want to go to a smaller EPL team than Spurs? Would he get a chance at CL there?
Loads of questions. Who's asking, me or Robbie Keane?
I don't like it either mate, but we need to get real...
If players of Keanes calibre runs out of options and we're the next best thing...
..well, beggars can't be choosers my man.
Pish state of affairs, but it's the way it is.
edit.
I was never comparing Keane to the King of Kings, seemed like you thought I was... throwing that out there for anybody else![]()

Get him fucking back NOW!!!
Keeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanoooooooooooooooooo!
Seems like a loan deal is a no go...
http://www.joe.ie/003460/1/1/story/s...le-could-be-onSpurs manager Harry Redknapp has vetoed a possible second loan move to Celtic for Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane but could be open to selling the Dubliner before the August transfer deadline.
Keane spent the second half of last season at Parkhead, scoring 16 goals in 19 appearances for the club.
That success, in a disappointing overall campaign for the Bhoys, raised the prospect of new Celtic manager Neil Lennon, who finished last season in charge in a caretaker capacity, making a move to bring Keane back to the club this summer.
However, Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has dismissed the possibility of allowing his sometime skipper to leave White Hart Lane on loan again.
Redknapp said, "I wouldn't think that's a possibility, no, because we paid good money for him and to loan him out again, it wouldn't be a goer.
If Robbie's not happy when the season starts and he's not playing then we'll sit down and discuss it. And if he wants to move, someone will have to buy him, but I'm hoping he comes back in to the team and makes a real impact.
Think the only way this is goanny happen is if McGeady is included in the deal. Does anybody know what Aiden's wages are at the minute?
Gutted about this news. We desperately need good front men.
Squire,
I think McGeady is on $16,000 a week (at least that is what was quote when there was talk of Spartak doubling his wages) and Keano is on somewhere in the rage of 80,000 a week.
Redknapp has expressed interest in McGeady before, and the Spurs have been linked with every bloody winger under the sun so there you go. Silly season in full effect!
I think McGeadys on £19,000 a week and Keanes on £65,000
I was thinking it was about £20k aswell. Obviously Keane's wages would be the hardest part to deal with but we done it last season so why not again? Especially if MGeady and Boruc are goanny be heading, which i think there's a good chance of. If not then there will be no Keano, simple as that.
I read somewhere that Eišur Gušjohnsen had resigned on loan for them, I'm sure there was some tie in with that during the initial Keane loan......Maybe
Harry redknapp has said he wont be open to a loan deal - hard cash only
And that's thatTottenham boss Harry Redknapp has refused to sanction such a move, claiming he is only interested in hard cash for the Republic of Ireland captain.
Asked if Keane would be returning to Celtic Redknapp said: "I wouldn't think that's a possibility, no, because we paid good money for him and to loan him out again, it wouldn't be a goer.
"If Robbie's not happy when the season starts and he's not playing we'll sit down and discuss it.
