Celtic still working to bring back Robbie Keane, reveals Mjallby
JOHAN Mjallby insists Celtic still haven't given up hope of persuading Robbie Keane to return to the club.
The Spurs ace hit 12 goals in an impressive six-month loan stint at Celtic last season before going back to London.
But Mjallby, who was yesterday officially unveiled as Neil Lennon's assistant manager, has revealed his boss is still hoping to lure the striker north again.
He said: "Has Neil been speaking to Robbie? Definitely.
"I don't know Tottenham's thinking when it comes to Robbie. He is out of our reach when it comes to buying him. But a loan would be perfect for us."
And Mjallby believes the club. can still attract other players of the calibre of Keane - but only if they are available on loan.
He added: "To buy someone at Robbie's level would be impossible. We don't have that kind of money.
"The only way we could get that kind of player would be to ride our luck and maybe find someone on loan and make sure it's a quality player who is going to give us goals.
"But we have the lure of European football at Celtic. From my own memories it's very important as a player. It's a great opportunity to play against the best and develop."
Meanwhile, Celtic have been told they can land Le Mans utility man Ibrahima Camara on the cheap.
The 25-year-old defensive midfielder - who is on trial at Lennoxtown - is in the final year of his contract at his French club and is up for grabs for around £300,000.
Le Mans spokesman Guillaume Bertel said: "We won't demand an expensive fee. We will be reasonable because he's in the final year of his contract."
Fuck if this happenned - quality!
Not to rain on anyone's parade but there has been talk of Aston Villa dropping a few dimes on taking Keane from White Hart Lane. I suspect 'Arry would rather sell to fund potential transfers (it's a massive year for Spurs). The lure of European Football can only do you so much.
'Arry won't want to sell to Villa. Rival for fourth place along with City and Liverpool and Villa are the weakest link. He'd not want to sell them a striker that will score important goals when he can watch them playing that big lump Heskey.
COME ON TO FUCK LENNY. This is where true managers prove themselves and bring in players of the right calabre when they are available.
I'm sure he'd rather play under Lennon than Mowbray.
You know the Huns are still hurting about us getting Keane last year - probably 'cause its the only big name transfer either of the Glasgow clubs have had in years and we got it. They tell themselves that Keane was a "failure" here because he didn't win any silverware and played in two of our worst losses![]()
Thread title is very misleading.
There is fuck all in any of the articles that we havent heard already.
Pish thread.

Fair point Jamesy.
I wonder if O'Neil might use a player on the current Villa squad to entice "Arry to make the move. There has been some crazy ass speculation that the likes of Ashley Young or Gabby Agbonlahor(WTF????) could go the other way in some form of player + cash deal.
Having said all I have said, if there is anyone we want on our end to sell Keane to returning to Parkhead, it's Lenny. He's been there and done that.
The one i heard was Ashley Young & Agbonlahor for Keane and Pavlyucenko, plus £15 mil but i never caught from which side.
Ludacris deal
Aye I found it very strange to hear Fortune going on about Keane today, felt like something was brewing. Top marks to Lenny if he can pull this off.
No, thanks.
