Really don't know what to make of this. Suppose only time will tell. It's often the unflattering signings that do the best.
I hope we sign him, he's the kind of Championship player that could move up to the Premier League and do well because he's a decent player aswell as scoring goals. A skinny Scott McDonald with pace.
I liked him at the start but the more i think about him having to make a 'decision' between boro and Celtic turns me right off.
Middlesbrough or Celtic? ffs Anyone with half a braincell would see that they're not even on the same level.

I hope to fuck it dosn't come to this. Why spend £2.5 on this when we could pay a bit more to get Skippy back.
Hooper is a proven player in the Championship and McDonald isnt thoughHooper scored 20 goals for the team that finished 20th in the League he's a good player and a good goalscorer, better than McDonald.
Thomas Gravesen was proven in the EPL yet didn't make it here. Some players just aren't suited to playing here, Skippy was. Not saying Hooper won't be, I don't know a thing about him tbh.

Gravesen was fine up here just not played in the right position, we didnt play a formation that he could play in but he was still a good player. Hooper is a striker only plays up front so there would be no problem. Players like Gravesen, Jarosik and Juninho only never became good for us because were we played them they all played in the Petrov position before but we wanted them to play out wide or in the middle of a 4-4-2 it didnt have anything to do with them not being able to adjust to the spl.

Good point, I was just using him as an example. tbh, I'd rather Hooper to Skippy, a fresh start is what's needed. But I'd rather we hadn't sold Skippy in the first place, but what can you do when you have (or had, fortunately) a clown acting as your manager.
I don't know much about Hooper myself mate, but as for Gravesen, if Strachan would have built the team around him, I think he would have ran riot up here.
Once again, WGS stubbornness got in the way, and he demanded that Gravesen sit back and dictate play from behind the ball, something Gravesen was not great at, and also something it looked like he refused to do, hence his downfall then departure.

Aye I agree with that because he looked hard it seemed people thought he was a solid tackling midfielder but he was more of a playmaker, he had good skill on the ball, was clever and had a good range of passing and he scored goals but we wanted him to protect the defence like the new Lennon![]()
