Sorry mate, just hate people not posting the article too.Beattie's spell at Stoke has turned sour since his infamous dressing-room bust-up with Tony Pulis back in December.
While Stoke maintained the matter was resolved it has obviously cast a shadow over Beattie's role at the club and he has found himself on the periphery ever since.
Fulham, West Brom and Blackburn have all shown interest over the past six months but Stoke do not want to let him go for anything other than £2million and for a 32-year-old that is causing interested clubs to reconsider.
Celtic also like Beattie as they weigh up various targets but again they are not blessed with cash and the same problems may occur.
Clubs would prefer a loan deal or a knockdown fee up front with potential add-ons based on goals yet it seems Beattie may be facing more frustration as Stoke stand firm.

meh, 32 and £2m......no thanks
Only downside is his age here. He'd do very well for us in the SPL.
Robbie Keane to James Beattie unbelievable that anybody is entertaining the idea of this clown
I wouldn't go as far as to call James Beattie a clown. Sure he's not the most impressive player ever but he is tried an tested at premiership level. Is known as a pretty good goalscorer and wouldn't cost too much to get over here.
He's been too injury prone during his career for to be worth 2 million. Especially when at the wrong side of 30.
Beattie would do a good job up in the SPL, i have no doubt about it. He is a good finisher, i would say he is very like Chris Sutton.
Would take him on loan if we could. Wouldnt buy him.
If he can stay fit, he'll score goals up here, unfortunately
