Thread: Celtic make £1.2m bid for Maccabi Haifa midfielder Biram Kayal

According to yuvalhapoel96 on the GB forum, the Israeli media have reported that Biram Kayal who plays for Maccabi Haifa is on his way to Celtic. Can't find anything on the internet though and there's no source so maybe bullshit. Anyone else heard anything?

I think you'll find it's 'Zionist cunt, fuck him', not Israeli. But anway, on topic-don't know a thing about him but another good DM would be no harm, Brown can't tackle but apparently does well in attacking role for Scotland so at least this would allow him to play that role.

Never rated N'Guemo tbh. Will be interesting to see what kind of formation we go for this season, hopefully something that gives some king of cover at the back, the defence was left wide open for a lot of last season.

CELTIC were last night closing in on yet another summer buy as negotiations began with Maccabi Haifa for the £1.2million signing of Israeli international Biram Kayal.

The capture of the 22-year-old who plays in a holding midfield role, would be Neil Lennon's sixth signing as he gears up for an assault on the SPL championship and a crack at Champions League qualification.

Maccabi Haifa last night confirmed Celtic have made an official approach for Kayal, who has 12 caps.

As Celtic flew back from their pre-season tour of North America, chief executive Peter Lawwell was trying to thrash out the deal ahead of last night's midnight signing deadline for the Champions League qualifier against Braga next week.

Maccabi president Jacob Shaha said: "Celtic have approached us about Biram but they are not the only club interested in him."

Lennon has signed Joe Ledley, Charlie Mulgrew, Cha Du-Ri, Efrain Juarez and Daryl Murphy since taking over the job on a permanent basis. Kayal looks certain to become his sixth recruit and the Irishman isn't stopping there. Meanwhile, Aiden McGeady is losing his race against the clock to be fit to face Braga on Wednesday.

Despite having been sidelined for two weeks with a thigh injury, Hoops boss Lennon hoped to play the winger in the friendly at Lincoln tomorrow.

However, Record Sport can reveal McGeady will not feature against Chris Sutton's side.

Having a backup for Juarez wouldn't hurt, that's why another DM is required.

Doesn't sound as if this guy will be back up though, he seems to be pretty established despite his age. Plus we have the likes of Brown, Crosas, Ki and Wilson who done well there in the first game in America. I'd say that was plenty of 'backup'

Maybe Brown will be offski. We do need 2-3 rough midfielders, and I wanted Lennon to sort that part out.
